The 1987 portmanteau comedy feature Amazon Women on the Moon lampoons several film genres in general and the 1954 sci-fi cheapie Cat Women of the Moon in particular. Other sketches in Amazon Women include an opening bit with Arsenio Hall; a vignette titled "Son of the Invisible Man" wherein a naked Ed Begley Jr. runs around in full view of the nonplussed supporting cast; the It's Alive parody "Hospital", which offers the spectacle of Michelle Pfeiffer giving birth to Mr. Potato Head; and a Siskel & Ebert takeoff, featuring Arche Hahn as a TV viewer whose entire life is given a "thumbs down." Directed by several hands, including Joe Dante, Carl Gottleib, Peter Horton, John Landis, and Robert K. Weiss, Amazon Women on the Moon also features a satire of the Kroger G. An TV news satire from director Robert Downey, this film concerns a cable evening news show that gradually turns into chaotic performance art. Head newscaster Terrence Hackley (Zack Norman) has been caught by his wife Joy (Tammy Grimes) with a plaid skirt in his suitcase, so he covers up by wearing it in his interviews. The sagging ratings start to go up and then they zoom sky-high after Joy and the weatherman bounce the station's signal off the moon and it lands in houses around the world. Gas-station owner Zack (Noble Willingham) is being pressured to sell out by a gang of crooks. Coming to Zack's aid, the members of the A-Team are surprised to learn that the man behind the skullduggery is infamous mob boss Sam Marlini (Marc Lawrence)--who was supposed to have been killed years earlier! This sci-fi actioner chronicles the attempts of rebels to usurp him and free up water and other resources for others. New York Nights is a boring, poorly acted adaptation of the much more successful La Ronde by Max Ophül -- ironically barred for four years by the New York State censorship board when it was first released in 1950. The story sequence is the key to the film; nine episodes each have a character from the preceding episode in a new romantic liaison, until the last character ends up with the one at the beginning. These nine scenarios are somewhere below the suds of soap-opera and above the explicit sex of porn movies. Many different directors in different countries have tried their own versions of La Ronde (based on a play by Arthur Schnitzler with much more success than this version by Simon Nuchtern. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

In this undistinguished softcore film, Albert (Chris Lemmon -- Jack Lemmon's son) is an adman for a clothing company charged with recruiting five well-endowed, beautiful women to model the company's line of bras. One of the women is at work in a horror-parody film, another is a disco singer, another a wrestler, and the remaining two are a Countess, and the daughter of the president of the company. When his wife Suzanna Love is seriously injured in a car accident, Keir Dullea agrees to a radical and revolutionary surgical procedure to save the life of the comatose woman. Love undergoes a brain transplant-and, miracle of miracles, survives. Unfortunately, the brain donor was a murdered woman, and now Love is besieged by horrific memories of the killing.
