A lifelong city boy finds that life in the country isn't nearly as horrible as he suspected it would be after being sent to live with his elderly grandfather and befriending a loyal dog named Sheeba. Born and bred in New York City, young Clay (Dylan Patton) couldn't think of anything worse that living somewhere without concrete beneath his feet and skyscrapers over his head. Besides, all of Clay's friends are in the city, as is his father (Judge Reinhold). So when Clay arrives in the country to live with his grandpa (Edward Asner), the lack of crowded streets and familiar faces leaves him feeling deeply wistful. But just when Clay began to feel like things couldn't get any worse, along came Sheeba. Best friends from the moment they meet, Clay and Sheeba are soon exploring the rolling hills and making some new friends around town. But when Clay clashes with Wax, the town bully, his good fortune quickly takes a turn for the worse. As the confrontations between the two teens escalate, Clay quickly learns that Wax is as stubborn as he is sadistic. When Wax dognaps Sheeba, however, the stress of losing his only friend combined with the frustration of being separated from his father becomes too much to take. Later, as Clay prepares to flee for the city, his father catches wind of conflict and decides to step in before things get out of hand. A grieving teen comes into possession of a telephone that allows her to connect with people in the past, and attempts to use it to prevent her mother from being murdered. Haley (Steffany Huckaby) was told that her mother died of a heart attack, but the truth is far more ominous. Shortly after discovering a mysterious telephone that allows her to communicate with her mother, Haley receives the coroner's autopsy report and realizes that her mother was in fact the victim of foul play.
