The first of several sight gag and slapstick-rich comedies he produced without the team of Jerry Zucker, David Zucker, and Jim Abrahams, this lowbrow comedy from executive producer and star Leslie Nielsen suffers by comparison to his work with the "ZAZ" team. Nielsen plays Dick Steele, secret agent WD-40, called out of retirement to stop the world-conquering plans of his old nemesis, General Rancor (Andy Griffith), an armless madman determined to avenge himself upon Steele (who is responsible for Rancor's lack of appendages). With the help of Russian agent Veronique Ukrinsky (Nicolette Sheridan), Steele prepares to battle Rancor at his tropical island lair, where the daughter of Steele's long-ago love is being held captive. Along the way, such films as True Lies (1994), Speed (1994), Jurassic Park (1993), Pulp Fiction (1994), and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) are spoofed. Director Richard Friedberg had previously directed Nielsen in a series of automobile rental commercials and goofy "how-to" golf videos. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) volunteers to monkey-sit Marcel -- who promptly escapes. The thrill of chasing Marcel down arouses something in Ross (David Schwimmer), who makes his move on Rachel. Alas, this cozy tête-à-tête is ruined by the untimely arrival of Rachel's ex-fiancé, the former Mr. Potato Head (aka Barry Farber [Mitchell Whitfield]). The denouement hinges on a tense showdown with the eccentric Mr. Heckles (Larry Hankin) and trigger-happy animal catcher Luisa (Megan Cavanagh). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Making matters worse (if such a thing is possible), Eric is steamed at Cory for inadvertently ruining his hot date with supermodel Rebecca-Alexa (Angela Visser). Watch for future Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Charisma Carpenter as a caterer. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The low-budget "Killer Tomatoes" series closed with this fourth chapter starring a returning John Astin as the resurrected Professor Gangrene, who resurfaces in France to continue his ongoing plot for world domination through the care and maintenance of the title fruit. Hoping to bank on his sidekick's resemblance to King Louis XVII (long prophesied to return to his throne), Gangrene sends his armies of tomato-monsters (who sport snarling, feral faces and one-liners this time out) to eliminate those who stand in his way. Among them is the nominal "hero," a has-been actor (Marc Price) spurred by the vacillating affections of winsome Parisian Marie (Angela Visser) to join the French army against the Juicy Red Menace. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide
