This comedy concerns the attempts of four different young men who try to lose their virginity. Part one finds a father taking his son to a topless bar to teach him the facts of life. After several drinks, the boy manages to pick up a willing blonde female, but his father's search for sex is thwarted by a marriage-minded female. The second part finds two young virginal teens agreeing to have sex for the first time, but their mutual respect and nervousness prevents them from completing the act. The boy is later initiated by an older woman who owns a car dealership. Part three finds an overweight, self-conscious teenager asking for his friend's help. Invited to a costume party, the boy is fellated by another boy who removes his mask after he is done. The recipient of the sex act is horrified and runs away. The last part finds a perfectly normal man ostracized because he is a virgin. Sent to a psychiatric clinic, he is found to be mentally and physically fit. He picks up a local hooker to change his status and promptly gets venereal disease. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

Adapted from a play by Alfonso Paso, this conventional drama about the characters in a woebegone rooming house is characterized by diction that is right off the theatrical stage. Each lodger in the ramshackle house has his or her own sad story to tell and it does not look like there is much hope for redemption in any of these cases. Among this group of hard-luck pensionners is a retired army officer whose way of handling his poverty is to think about other things. Then one day Fate decides to smile on the group as a whole and suddenly there are new ways of solving everyone's troubles as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow materializes with no forewarning. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

In a fast-paced, partly comedic story set in the second two decades of the 20th century, three unlikely friends find fame and fortune together. The three grow up in the same neighborhood and although they are widely different in their economic and social backgrounds, each loves music. One is the son of a well-known, sophisticated politician, another is the son of the maid who does the laundry at the politician's home, and the third is poor and has an alcoholic father. Coming together just at the time that the tango emerges on the musical scene, the three friends decide to set up a band. Given their talent and rapport and the serendipity of the new tango sound, the band looks like it has a good chance of making it big and changing their lives. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
