Although this Mexican romp stars popular, flamboyant singer Gloria Trevi, it was a box-office flop because audiences were put off by the vulgar situations within the story. Playing a dual role, Trevi plays an innocent but rebellious school girl, Gloria, and a notorious drug runner "Las Grenas." The latter is in deep trouble with some gringo gangsters after she cheats them out of $2 million. When she learns that Gloria is her doppelganger, she convinces the girl to pretend to be her corpse in a funeral. Two small-town guys get more adventure than they want in the big city in this action comedy from Mexico. There's the usual cross-section of passengers, all strangers at first, friends afterward. And there are quite a few amazing adventures en route, some of them hair-raising. Things get really confusing when Felemón wins big in the soccer pools and the party to celebrate gets hopping. This is a low-budget, low-brow comedy about people who have the misfortune of working in a hospital, though not as much misfortune as the patients. The doctors are universally incompetent, none of the nurses have been able to find a uniform that was not a tad too small, gangsters wander in and out of the premises, and misfits make up the corps of ambulance drivers, and sometimes, patients as well.
