Night Court alum John Larroquette and character actress Karen Valentine (Gidget Grows Up, Room 222) play Jack Landry and Audrey Landry, husband and wife and the parents of three grown daughters, in this made-for-television comic feature. Learning to adjust to the girls' absence, Jack and Audrey are just beginning to enjoy the empty nest syndrome -- even planning a second honeymoon -- when all three girls (played by Kelly Overton, Marina Black, and Jaime Ray Newman) unexpectedly resurface and each announces her wedding plans. With three trips to the altar for the beleaguered Jack, and Audrey drowning in a sea of invitations, complete pandemonium -- and a surfeit of laughs -- are not far behind. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Forsaking the series' standard historical trappings, this episode takes place in 1999 A.D. A woman named Annie (Lucy Lawless), whose favorite TV series is (what else?) Xena: Warrior Princess, becomes convinced that she is herself reincarnated from Xena (who, need we add, is also played by Lucy Lawless). Her husband, Harry (Ted Raimi), who bears a striking resemblance to Xena's wanna-warrior friend Joxer, worries that Annie has lost her marbles. Harry consults a New Age psychologist named Mattie Merrill (Renee O'Connor) -- who is the living image of Xena's traveling companion, Gabrielle -- in hopes of finding out if Annie is just fantasizing. An expert in "past lives," Mattie begins probing her sources, and discovers some remarkable (and wholly unexpected) facts about both Annie and Harry. Originally slated to air in April of 1999, "Déjà Vu All Over Again" was ultimately rescheduled as Xena's fourth-season finale. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this comic episode set in "the present," the production team responsible for the weekly series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys -- whose members bear striking resemblances to the series' principal characters -- are threatened with unemployment by studio boss Hollinshoffer (Robert Trebor) unless they can come up with some fresh new story ideas. Hoping to work in atmosphere of peace and quiet, the staff heads to Camp Wannachuck, a summer retreat presided over by perky counselor Sunny Day (Renee O'Connor) and the less-than-perky (and appropriately named) Norma Bates (Tamara Gorski). Before long, however, the production team is plagued by a series of murder attempts, and it falls to Kevin Sorbo, the actor who stars as Hercules (or is he the genuine article?) to save the day -- and to supply the staff with enough storylines to last them at least another season-and-a-half. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- Kevin Sorbo, Michael Hurst, (more)
The somber fifth-season continuity of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is briefly interrupted with this comic episode spotlighting those lovable rapscallions Autolycus (Bruce Campbell) and Salmoneus (Robert Trebor). Stealing a magic lantern, the boys conjure up a sexy genie named -- what else? -- Jinni (Hilary Thompson). Alas, the curvaceous bottle imp can't seem to get any of the boys' wishes right -- .and besides, this is an exercise in "Be careful what you wish for." The highlight occurs when Salmoneus, unable to make up his mind what he wants from genie, is split into two halves: "Cry Baby Sal" and "Hyper Sal." ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

- Robert Trebor, Hilary McMillan, (more)
In present-day Hollywood, the staff of Renaissance Productions, the people responsible for the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, are in a panic. An earthquake has struck Tinseltown, and the series' titular star, Kevin Sorbo, is missing. In order to save their jobs, the series' producers and writers (all of whom bear startling resemblances to other Hercules characters) are forced to audition new actors for the role of Hercules -- and failing that, they desperately improvise new "Hercules-less" story concepts. The tension results in open hostility amongst the staffers -- much to the delight of perennial Hercules villains Ares (Kevin Smith) and Strife (Joel Tobeck), who behave as if they're responsible for the whole mess. Fortunately, salvation is at hand in the form of...well, best not give too much of the story away. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

- Kevin Sorbo, Michael Hurst, (more)
Hercules and Iolaus do not appear in this episode (though actor Michael Hurst does show up -- in drag!), which amiably spoofs the 1959 Billy Wilder comedy Some Like It Hot. Falsely accused of murdering King Pholus, itinerant peddler Salmoneus (Robert Trebor) and "King of Thieves" Autolycus (Bruce Campbell) elude the authorities by donning women's clothing. In this guise, "Salmonella" and "Autolyca" join the Widow Twanky's all-girl dance troupe. Hoping to score points with "hootchi-coochie-jiggle-wiggle" dancer Cupcake (Lacey Kohl), Autolycus takes on a second false identity of wealthy Farciferous Van Baklava. Alas, Cupcake prefers eating to lovemaking -- but, oh well, nobody's perfect. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In truth, however, Kamarus is a vicious warlord in disguise, using hallucinogenic drugs to keep his disciples under his thumb -- and only Iolaus is immune to the villain's "charms." ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The count's intended victim is Marie de Valle (Danielle Cormack), who turns out to be the real Chartreuse Fox. When Marie is captured and sentenced to the guillotine, the count's henchmen -- Robert (Kevin Sorbo) and Jean-Pierre (Michael Hurst), suddenly electing to pattern themselves after their archaic lookalikes Hercules and Iolaus -- vow to rescue the heroine and dedicate their lives to fighting for the rights of the downtrodden. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
