Together with Lisa Ryan (Ursula Karven), who also lost her husband in the tragedy, Nell is determined to uncover the truth about her husband and hopefully clear her name -- and to that end, she secures the services of a brace of shady private detectives and a psychic. An old "urban legend" stemming from an incident at the 1893 Paris Exposition is the inspiration for this episode. While visiting London, Jessica (Angela Lansbury) comes across a corpse in her hotel room. She summons the authorities, only to find that the corpse has disappeared--and subsequently, virtually everyone, including the police, adamantly insist that there never was a body, and that Jessica is merely imagining things. Leslie Nielsen returns as the intrepid (and accident-prone) Lt. Frank Drebin in Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear, "un film de David Zucker." This second feature film from the "Police Squad!" series finds Drebin as a guest at a White House dinner, receiving an award for shooting his 1,000th drug dealer, although he admits to shooting only 998 -- he ran over the last two in his car. ("Luckily, they turned out to be drug dealers"). Also at the White House dinner is energy czar Dr. Albert S. Meinheimer (Richard Griffiths), whom President George Bush (John Roarke) has chosen to start a new national energy policy. Since Meinheimer believes in promoting alternative energy resources, the evil leaders of the polluting energy industries (coal, oil, and nuclear power--or the lobby groups SMOKE, SPILL and KABOOM) are horrified at Bush's choice. Joining together with arch-villain Quentin Hapsburg (Robert Goulet), they plan to kidnap the real Meinheimer and substitute a fake Meinheimer in his place who will enact energy policy according to the dictates of the energy lobby. Drebin becomes deeply involved in the conspiracy when he runs into his ex-girl friend Jane (Priscilla Presley), who is not only Meinheimer's public relations director but also Hapsburg's current paramour. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

Blood Sport premiered as a 2-hour installment of the syndicated TV anthology "Mystery Wheel of Adventure." It was one of three Irish/Canadian productions based on the works of mystery writer Dick Francis. As in the other Francis mysteries, Ian McShane stars as British Jockey Club investigator David Cleveland. Not long afterward, the reviews come out, with one critic lavishing praise on the production, and the critic's chief rival penning a devastating pan. Double Agent stars Michael McKean in a dual role as the Starbinder twins. One twin is a cool, nerveless secret agent; the other (the one with glasses) is a mild-mannered veterinarian and family man. It must needs be that the spy twin is incapacitated, forcing the veterinarian twin to take his place on a dangerous mission. Lloyd Bochner costars as "Secret Agent Vaughn"--a cute reference to Man From UNCLE star Robert Vaughn. A street artist named Speed (David Westgor) is being forced to paint forgeries of valuable works of art so that crooked dealer Steffan Shawn (Lloyd Bochner) can pass the phonies off as the real thing. When Speed is nearly beaten to death by Shawn's minions, his sister Peggy (Maylo McCaslin) turns to the A-Team for help. To maneuver the villain into tipping his hand, Face (Dirk Benedict) poses as a writer for a high-toned art magazine, while Murdock (Dwight Schultz) impersonates a VERY eccentric artist--named H. M. Murdock, of course! The titular "assault" occurs at the end of the episode, when an expensive Mercedes is brought into play as a makeshift tank. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This undistinguished drama goes no further than clichéd views about women who gain success by bedding down those who have it. Pia Zadora stars as Jerilee, just out of high school and married to a prominent Hollywood screenwriter, with her own heart-felt aspirations to get her screenplays noticed by the right producers. Her marriage fails for many reasons and once on her own, she comes to the difficult decision that she really will go nowhere fast unless she uses her sexual charms to pave the way to recognition -- and so she does, with a bit of revenge thrown in at the end for good measure. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Remember that controversial participation game of the 1980s called "Dungeons and Dragons"? Remember how sociologists warned us that the game was potentially dangerous to those who couldn't altogether separate fantasy from reality. This is the premise of Mazes and Monsters, a made-for-TV film based on the best-seller by Rona Jaffee. Future Oscar-winner Tom Hanks portrays one of four college students who become so deeply involved in a Mazes & Monsters session that the results may turn fatal at any moment. Despite its potential for silly sensationalism, the film is based on a believable premise, and arrives at a logical conclusion. There is good news and bad news for Denver oil tycoon Blake Carrington (John Forsythe) as Dynasty launches its first season. The good news is that Blake is about to wed his former secretary, Krystle Jennings (Linda Evans); the bad news is that the Carrington oil empire is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, thanks to a major Mideast political crisis. And there's more trouble in store for Blake as the season progresses. Breezing into town to express their disapproval of his marriage are Carrington's children by a previous marriage: bisexual family "black sheep" Steven Carrington (Al Corley) and rapacious Fallon Carrington (Pamela Sue Martin), who will apparently sleep with anything in trousers. As Steven causes profound embarrassment for his major dad via his romance with boyfriend Ted, Fallon is besmirching the family name by fooling around with her sleazy chauffeur Michael, and later outrages her dad by marrying Jeff Colby (John James), the son of Carrington's hated business rival Cecil Colby (Lloyd Bochner). Meanwhile, Krystle's ex-lover Matthew Blaisdel (Bo Hopkins) hopes to win back his sweetie before the marriage -- and never mind that Matthew is employed as Blake's head geologist. As for Matthew's unstable wife, Claudia (Pamela Bellwood), she has taken it upon herself to "straighten out" the sexually confused Steven Carrington. On top of all this, the Blake-Krystle nuptials are nearly ruined when another of Blake's rivals, wildcatter Walter Lankershim (Dale Robertson), interrupts the ceremony with a shotgun. Season one ends on a cliffhanger, as Blake stands trial for the murder of Steven's lover Ted -- and a mysterious veiled lady appears out of nowhere as a witness for the prosecution. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the conclusion of "Greetings from Earth", six Terrans from the 13th Colony (formerly known as Earth) are released from suspended animation when their drifting space station is discovered. Upon awakening, the six become obsessed with the notion that the Galactica is part of the hated Eastern Alliance, which brought about the destruction of Earth several centuries before. Adama (Lorne Greene) begins to wonder if the newly revived travellers are whom they claim to be when they demand to be taken to the planet Paradeen--lest they all perish.
