Stacey Dash guests as Michelle Michaels, a glamorous pop star who takes a liking to Will (Will Smith). Reciprocating, Will begins dating Michelle, and before long our hero is jet-setting all over the country. This does not rest well with the Banks family, which has planned an elaborate surprise party for the absent Will--who at that very moment is being hit with a surprise of an entirely different kind. Whoopi Goldberg appears unbilled. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Former NBC intern and Get a Life creator Chris Elliott stars as the title character, a recent graduate of the exclusive Fancy Lad Academy who unwittingly boards the wrong sea vessel and ends up a whipping post for its gruff, foul-mouthed crew after his predecessor (Andy Richter of The Late Show) falls overboard. Over the course of their adventures, Elliot eventually earns the respect of the crew as he also earns his manhood. This supremely silly film features sight gags and tastelessness galore, including a love scene with a woman who's all hands -- literally. Elliot's old boss David Letterman appears in an amusing unbilled cameo as a sarcastic villager in port. In all, Cabin Boy works much in the same vein as Elliot's former TV show; a crass sense of humor is helpful for full appreciation. ~ Jeremy Beday, Rovi

Shot on inferior video stock (but sporting pretentious "letterbox" screen-masking for some insane reason), this painfully cheap and sleazy affair presents a serial killer on wheels, in the form of wheelchair-bound Eugene (Ron Litman), who seeks revenge against the street punks who killed his mother and rendered him unable to walk. When similar thugs rape and kill his aunt (Mary Woronov), Eugene seems to slip into Taxi Driver mode. When his attempts at preparation are thwarted by his infirmity, he is assisted at first by a like-minded homeless man (G.J. Levinson), but when his accomplice chickens out, Eugene kills him and rises to the challenge on his own, building confidence with each attack. Eventually he hits on the ultimate plan of revenge: by poisoning the water supply with a drug that will destroy the city's wealthy populace, literally turning them into bums! Though he is ostensibly directing his revenge on society as a whole, Eugene seems to favor naked or barely-clad female victims -- which seems more indicative of the director's hang-ups than those of his principal character. A waste of time, despite the presence of the always-interesting Woronov. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

The political campaign between Philip (James Avery) and Judge Robertson (Sherman Hemsley) begins in earnest--deadly earnest, as it turns out. Will (Will Smith) seriously jeopardizes his uncle's chances when he is hauled into jail to account for $2000 worth of unpaid parking tickets. Though he may be senile, Judge Robertson isn't stupid, and he intends to exploit Will's "indiscretion" to the fullest in public! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Lower Level is a glossy, but uneven thriller in which a wealthy, unhappy woman becomes the obsession of a security guard who reads her secret journals and becomes obsessed with her sexual fantasies. Hilary (Elizabeth Gracen) is an architect who has a lover who will not commit to her and she pours out her frustrations into her diary where she begs for her dream lover to rescue her. Craig (Jeff Yager) reads the diaries and takes her fantasies literally as he decides to become the man of Hilary's dreams. Director Peterson gets bogged down by several plot cliches and a highly unsatisfactory ending. Despite these flaws, Lower Level has many interesting moments and is worth a view. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi
