The Salzburg Festival mounted this 2008 production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's most famous and acclaimed opera, Don Giovanni, with a cast that includes Christopher Maltman in the title role, Anatoly Kocherga as Il commandatore, Annette Dasch as Donna Anna and Matthew Polenzani as Don Ottavio. Set in 17th century Russia, Khovanshchina follows the conflict between orthodox Russian conservatives and the more progressive reformers led by Peter the Great.
