A couple trying to kick their sex life back into gear get more advice than they either need or can use in this satiric mock documentary. Joseph St. John (Hans Hoffman) and his wife Mary (Heather Smith) have been married for seven years, and both are certain the spark has gone out of their relationship when they realize they haven't made love in close to a month. Grimly determined to reclaim the passion of their newlywed days, Joseph and Mary throw in their lot with a variety of sex therapists and relationship counselors -- prying psychotherapist Dr. Emil Watson (Douglas Manes), curious urologist Dr. Nadia Pfelt (Leslie Shearing), tantric spiritual seeker Tanya Nashold (Elizabeth Quinn), and the adventurous husband-and-wife team of Todd Cohen (Michael Rose) and Gehan Brown-Cohen (Donna Klimek). But between lots of conflicting advice and a dizzying variety of drugs, balms, and appliances, is it possible Joseph and Mary could end up even more confused than they were before? Unscrewed was the first theatrical feature from filmmaker Leslie Shearing. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

One of the most sensational crime stories of the 1950s was the murder trial of Cleveland doctor Sam Sheppard, who was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of his wife. Though he protested his innocence and insisted that he'd seen a "curly-haired man" leaving his house on the night of the crime, Sheppard was condemned in the court of public opinion long before the judge handed out his sentence. (This true story served as the basis for the long-running TV series The Fugitive.) Years later, Sheppard was released from prison after it was determined that he hadn't had a fair trial, but his name was never officially cleared. Forty years after the death of his mother, Sheppard's son Sam Reese made it his mission in life to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that his father was innocent. In this TV movie adaptation of the younger Sheppard's autobiographical book, Peter Strauss is seen as Dr. Sam Sheppard, and Henry Czerny as Sam Reese. My Father's Shadow: The Sam Sheppard Story made its CBS network bow on November 17, 1998. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This sci-fi spoof stars Frank Stallone (Sly's brother) as Tony Mareda, Jr., a hot-shot private detective. Mareda leaves the funeral of his father, and while on the road and chased by two gunmen, he picks up a winsome hitchhiker and they end up at a drive in movie. While a "Zombie Beach Party 3" film flickers across the screen, a local weatherman and his date start talking about life in outer space, and lo-and-behold, a pink meteorite lands not far from the drive-in. It turns out that this "pink Mamma" transforms innocent, nubile maidens into pink chiquitas whose lust for men is a prelude to enslaving them and taking over the world. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Five high school boys chase after "Purity" Busch (Lynda Speciale) for impure reasons in this undistinguished teen sex comedy that emphasizes the absurd (such as a bowling ball attached to a sensitive part of the anatomy, going down the lane for a strike), and points to its own buffoon-like quality in fast-forward segments. As the five try one mindless stunt after another to lure Purity into their clutches, many a viewer would fast-forward the 80-minute running time even further. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
- Starring:
- Peter Keleghan, Lynda Speciale, (more)
