Jeremy Sisto Movies
With film roles ranging from his portrayal of a psychotic satanic killer (Hideaway [1995]) to Jesus (1999), one would not be hard-pressed to give actor Jeremy Sisto the credit of having a fairly impressive range of dramatic abilities. Born in Northern California, Sisto spent his early years living in the rock-built home his parents had made in the lower Sierra Nevada Mountains. Sisto would gain his earliest experiences as an actor after moving to Chicago with his mother and sister (Reedy Gibbs and Meadow Sisto, also actors) at the age of six. Jeremy and Meadow's turn as specters in the Goodman Theater's adaptation of Tennessee William's House Not Meant to Stand earned the young thespians positive notice, and led to theater work with such other Windy City institutions as the Absolute Theater Company and the Cherry Street Theater. After constant auditioning and small roles in commercials and industrial films, Sisto's breakthrough came with his being cast in Lawrence Kasdan's Grand Canyon (1991) after a deceptively discouraging audition. Returning to Chicago to finish school after wrapping up Grand Canyon in Los Angeles, Sisto constantly auditioned and played small roles in theater and independent films before moving to L.A. and finding roles in Clueless (1995) and White Squall (1996). A busy actor in the later '90s, Sisto appeared in the infamous Don's Plum (1998) before his role in the television mini-series The 60s and Jesus (both 1999). The next year Sisto would follow-up as a troubled young filmmaker coming to grips with the death of his wife in This Space Between Us, and with Angel Eyes, a mysterious tale of fate and urban isolation starring Jennifer Lopez. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Marcello (voice of Golden Globe-winner Troy Garrity) is a domesticated cat who spends most of his days wandering around his owner's sizable house and wondering what it would be like to explore the outside world with Jujube (voice of Rodrigues) - the pretty, outdoor-dwelling feline who lives next door. When his owner (voice of Swain) ventures away for a weekend trip and accidentally leaves a window cracked, curiosity gets the best of Marcello and he slips outside for the adventure of a lifetime. Jake Hoffman, Jeremy Sisto, Devon Aoki, and Ralph Macchio star in first time screenwriter/director Jordan Galland's horror comedy about a Shakespearian actor who agrees to direct a most unusual stage production of Hamlet. An out of work actor (Hoffman) in search of his big break believes that he's got his shot at stardom when he's hired to direct an unconventional, off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. But this adaptation of Shakespeare's classic play isn't just different because it takes a few intriguing liberties with the familiar tale, the most remarkable aspect of this particular production of Hamlet is the fact that it was written by a genuine Romanian vampire (John Ventimiglia). Now, as the rehearsals get underway and the body count starts to rise, the ambitious director struggles to gain control of the production while staying faithful to his one true love (Aoki) and dodging the detective (Sisto) who has made it his mission to solve the recent rash of unusual murders. Five men desperately try to recover their memories and piece together the traumatic events of the past several days in this independent thriller. In an abandoned warehouse, a handful of men slowly regain consciousness, but they’ve been stricken with amnesia and have no idea who they are, where they are, or what has happened to them. All five seem to have been in some sort of serious scuffle; one is tied up (Joe Pantoliano), another has been handcuffed (Jeremy Sisto), a third has a broken nose (Greg Kinnear), and the other two have their share of scrapes and bruises (Jim Caviezel and Barry Pepper). As the men compare the tiny shards of memory they can pull from their minds, one finds a newspaper from two days before which features a front-page story about the kidnapping of a wealthy and well-known businessman. The men begin to suspect that they were involved with the kidnapping, but no one is sure if they’re on the right or wrong side of the law – or if one of them might happen to be the victim. Another of the many serialized TV dramas of the mid-2000s in which important clues and motivations were slowly and methodically revealed on a "need to know" basis, Kidnapped got under way when Leopold Cain (Will Denton), the son of self-made millionaire Conrad Cain (Timothy Hutton) and his wife Ellie (Dana Delaney), was abducted during a quasi-paramilitary attack on his private school. "Don't call the police" was perhaps the least cryptic message received by Mr. and Mrs. Cain in the days that followed; other messages and clues always seemed to be weighted with double meanings and vague allusions to unsavory incidents in the past lives of the victim's parents. Assigned to rescue Leopold (if possible) was chief FBI investigator Latimer King (Delroy Lindo), who much against his will was teamed with rogue ex-agent Knapp (Jeremy Sisto), who in turn worked hand in glove with his mysterious sidekick Turner (Carmen Ejogo). The search for the kidnapped boy whisked virtually everyone in the cast around the world, with Mr. and Mrs. Cain frequently bollixing up the "good guys'" efforts by refusing to follow instructions or going off on their own whimsical tangents. Early on, the Cains' bodyguard Virgil (Mykelti Williamson) abruptly vanished from the scene; was he, like several others involved in the case, a murder victim, or was he pursuing his own agenda. Unfolding in a "Rashomon" fashion with contradictory information and points of view, this was one of those maddening series in which "truth" was an intangible commodity at best, and in which everyone had a skeleton or two in the closet. The Fisher clan suffers, suffers some more, and eventually begins to heal in the fifth and final season of HBO's Six Feet Under. As the season begins, Nate (Peter Krause) and Brenda (Rachel Griffiths) are finally ready to wed after four seasons of tumultuous courtship. But when Brenda miscarries Nate's baby before the ceremony even gets under way, the prospects for their union don't seem particularly bright. Federico (Freddy Rodriguez) and Ruth (Frances Conroy), too, face trouble on the marriage front: Rico as he attempts to win back the love of estranged wife Vanessa (Justina Machado, now a series regular) and Ruth as she cares for mentally ill husband George (James Cromwell). When George's daughter, Maggie (guest star Tina Holmes), arrives in town to help out, she unexpectedly strikes up a friendship with Nate, her stepbrother, whose mood grows dark as his 40th birthday approaches. David (Michael C. Hall) isn't exactly a ray of sunshine, either, as he continues to deal with the emotional fallout of his near-murder the previous season. Then he convinces partner Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) that they should become parents, leading to a whole new cycle of joy and heartache. As for the youngest Fisher, Claire (Lauren Ambrose) drops out of art school and dates Billy (Jeremy Sisto), Brenda's frequently unbalanced brother. When things with her photography career and her relationship go south at the same time, Claire takes a menial office job to support herself. There, she meets Ted (Chris Messina), the Republican lawyer and unlikely love interest who will support her during the unexpected tragedy that brings Six Feet Under to a close. By the end of the show's final episode, the fates of the entire cast have been revealed in a finale as offbeat as it is elegiac. ~ Brian J. Dillard, All Movie Guide

The mysterious death of Lisa Fisher (Lili Taylor) -- revealed in the third-season finale, "I'm Sorry, I'm Lost" -- casts a dark shadow across the entire fourth season of this critically acclaimed HBO drama. As funeral director Nate (Peter Krause) grapples with single parenthood and the aftermath of his wife's apparent drowning, he makes his way back into the arms of ex-girlfriend Brenda (Rachel Griffiths). Their reunion does little to help Brenda's budding romance with a hunky neighbor (Justin Theroux), but it does plenty to upset Lisa's grieving family. Meanwhile, David (Michael C. Hall) finds his newfound domesticity with boyfriend Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) interrupted by a surreal carjacking incident. As David slowly cracks up, Keith goes out on the road to provide security for trashy pop star Celeste (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg), who at one point unexpectedly seduces him. Art-school student Claire (Lauren Ambrose), too, find herself batting for the other team when she takes up with audacious performance artist Edie (guest star Mena Suvari). The relationship doesn't last, but ex-boyfriend Russell (Ben Foster) does help Claire stumble upon the new artistic direction that will lead to her first gallery show. Fisher matriarch Ruth (Frances Conroy) slowly gets to know the real George Sibley (new series regular James Cromwell), whom she impulsively married before learning about his history of mental illness. Meanwhile, family man Federico (Freddy Rodriguez) finds his own marriage disintegrating after he gets caught up in an affair with a needy lap dancer (guest star Idalis DeLeon). With its even darker-than-usual storylines, apocalyptic imagery, and shocking revelations, the fourth season of Six Feet Under alienated some fans and critics. A road trip rolls through a small town where the line between the dead and the living has become a bit problematic in this horror parody. A handful of twentysomethings are driving to Galveston, TX, in an RV to attend the wedding of a close friend. After a long day on the road, the travelers find themselves in a tiny town called Lovelock, where the only available accommodations are at a bed and breakfast run by the eccentric Mr. Wise (David Carradine). One of the kids, Johnny (Oz Perkins), notices that Mr. Wise is carefully looking after a small box; curious about its contents, Johnny opens it, only to unleash a torrent of evil spirits who turn the local rednecks into bloodthirsty creatures hovering somewhere between life and death. Dead & Breakfast features supporting performances by Portia de Rossi, Diedrich Bader, Jeremy Sisto, and David Carradine's daughter Ever Carradine; co-star Oz Perkins is also the offspring of a well-known actor, Anthony Perkins. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Blake (Jeremy Sisto) is like a lot of people living in L.A. He believes he has an audience following him around, watching everything he does. He addresses the camera nearly constantly, and it becomes clear that we are Blake's audience. He spots a Suspicious Character (Peter Stormare of Fargo, who also contributes the film's closing song) on the street and follows him. He tells the man, "I know what you did," even though he doesn't know. The cops warn Blake to stop harassing people, but he owes it to his audience to fight evil. Blake gets a surprise visit from his parents (Marcia Strassman and Eric Pierpoint), who are surprisingly understanding about his mental state. His mother tells him they showed up unannounced because, "We know that your audience hates phone conversations." Blake advertises for a sidekick to help him fight evil, and meets a young, unemployed black comic, Antoine (Brian White), who doesn't have anything better to do. Blake is hesitant to hire him ("I don't do clichés"), but Antoine reassures him that he is not a stereotype. Another run-in with the Suspicious Character gets Blake arrested, and sentenced to visit Elizabeth (Dina Meyer), a beautiful court-appointed therapist. Blake immediately recognizes her as his Love Interest, and her demurrals only reinforce his belief. Even the fact that she's engaged doesn't dissuade him. "He must be a total loser compared to me," he surmises. He thereafter refers to her betrothed as Doomed Fiancé (Carlos Jacott). Blake has a difficult time getting Elizabeth to see things his way, but his jovial personality begins to win her over. Meanwhile, he learns the sinister nature of Suspicious Character's behavior. The Movie Hero marks the feature debut of writer/director Brad T. Gottfred. It was shown at the 2003 Rhode Island International Film Festival. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

This ambitious, four-hour cable miniseries stars Jeremy Sisto (taking time off from his regular series Six Feet Under) as Roman general-turned-emperor Julius Caesar. Expensively filmed in Malta and Bulgaria, the production vividly traces Caesar's rise to prominence as a brilliant military tactician (with remarkably accurate battle scenes); his complex relationships with his mentor General Pompey (Chris Noth) and his second wife Calpurnia (Valeria Golino); his ideological tiltings with Senator Cato (Christopher Walken), who advocates democracy over Caesar's dictatorial ambitions; and his bloody (but inevitable) murder at the hands of former friends and allies. Taking some dramatic license with the facts, the film is basically sympathetic to its subject, although Caesar is depicted as a flawed man, both physically and morally. Giving Caesar points for being fundamentally honorable, in full possession of his faculties, and possessing the "common touch" with the Roman citizenry, the teleplay does not shrink away from the man's violent epileptic seizures, his megalomania, his casually calculated cruelties, and his bigamous relationship with Egyptian queen Cleopatra (Samuela Sardo). Interestingly enough, however, the miniseries downplays his notorious bisexuality ("Every man's woman and every woman's man"). In his final performance, Richard Harris appears as Caesar's wily bête noire, Roman dictator Sulla. Love and death (and the problems they bring) remain the constants in the third season of the HBO drama series Six Feet Under. In season three, now that Federico (Freddy Rodriguez) has bought a 25 percent interest in the funeral home, the name changes from Fisher and Sons to Fisher and Diaz, and he sees to it that his presence is felt in the business. Nate (Peter Krause) has a series of bizarre and troubling dreams, and his relationship with Lisa (Lili Taylor) becomes strained; he becomes all the more conflicted in his feelings about her when she disappears en route to a visit with her sister. Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) and David (Michael C. Hall) hit a rocky patch in their romance, with the two trying counseling, vacations, and even threesomes in hopes of smoothing things out. Ruth's (Frances Conroy) loneliness manifests itself in not one but two romances. And Claire (Lauren Ambrose) finds her love life becoming quite complicated as she becomes involved with a crematorium employee as well as a troubled fellow student, and must also fend off the advances of a lecherous art teacher. As Hitler's grip of fear continues to tighten during World War II, the capture of the U.S.S. Swordfish by a German U-boat leads to a brutal struggle for survival between axis and allies deep beneath the ocean surface. Following the capture of the U.S.S. Swordfish, the German crew soon begins to fall ill to a particularly powerful strain of meningitis, leaving the American prisoners-of-war obligated to work with the remaining German crew to keep the vessel from descending to the bottom of the ocean. The second season of HBO's critically acclaimed series Six Feet Under finds the Fisher family struggling to keep Fisher & Sons, their funeral home, from being bought up by Kroehner, one of the leading conglomerates in the local death business. Meanwhile, the Fishers grow exponentially complex: Nate (Peter Krause) is baffled when his relationship with Brenda (Rachel Griffiths) becomes unhealthy, both emotionally and sexually; David (Michael C. Hall) continues his rocky relationship with Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) and slowly comes out of the closet; Ruth's (Frances Conroy) eccentricities keep her from fully realizing a relationship with her family and lovers; and Claire's (Lauren Ambrose) romance with the troubled Gabe (Eric Balfour) takes a turn for the destructive. Meanwhile, the entire family is still reeling from the impact of Nate Sr.'s (Richard Jenkins) death, and some members, particularly Nate, who is coming to terms with a potentially deadly medical diagnosis, are met by what appears to be Nate Sr.'s ghost when their sense of self is at its most complicated.
