Young Johnny and the gang to which he belongs are planning to rob a video club that is in reality a front for a money-laundering operation. Unfortunately the robbers take too long and the police arrive before they can escape. The sudden arrival of the media exacerbates the situation and the resourceful bandits pretend to be terrorists. They will free their hostages in exchange for a plane to Cuba. The media begins to paint Johnny as a tragic hero. This drama revolves around a star-crossed romance between two very unlikely people. Lee Van Cleef plays a fiercely independent river ferryman in the Old West. Bandit Warren Oates, fresh from decimating a local town, rides up with his gang and demands that Van Cleef transport the crooks and their booty across the river. He refuses, and is taken prisoner. Biding his time, Van Cleef is able to turn the tables on the vicious gang. This time around, Ryan reopens a case that he's already won. New evidence indicates that a supposedly victimized drugstore owner (William Conrad) was the brains behind a robbery and murder that occurred at his own establishment.
