When last we left the crew of the star ship Enterprise, they were heading home following a skirmish with the despotic Khan. The unpleasant incident had cost the life of Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy)--or so it seemed. Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) is informed by Spock's father Sarek (Mark Lenard) that his son is being kept alive in the thoughts of one of the crew members. It now becomes necessary to search for Spock's body, so that flesh and soul can be rejoined on Vulcan. It turns out that Spock's spirit is residing within the mind of the Vulcan's longtime shipmate, "Bones" McCoy (DeForrest Kelley). Finding the body is another matter, since the Enterprise has been consigned to the trash heap and thus is out of Kirk's jurisdiction. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Cathie Shirriff guest stars as Diane, who during her hippie years lived in a commune with "Reverend" Jim (Christopher Lloyd). Though Jim is pretty much the same zonked-out person he was during the 1960s (maybe even more so), Diane has cleaned up her act and become a lawyer. So is there hope that Diane and Jim will be able to rekindle their relationship? First he buys the modeling agency where she works and then sets about towards turning her into the "The Dreamworld Girl." Along the way the young girl becomes disillusioned by the lurid assortment of sleazy characters she encounters. Beautiful film star Erin Wolfe (Cathie Shirriff) apparently kills herself in a manner resembling the script of her latest film, "Paradise Found". Erin's producer--and ex-lover--J.J. Stein (Ron Masak) hires Magnum to find out if her death indeed a suicide, or murder. Driven by a feeling of guilt over not having prevented the actress' death in the first place, Magnum signs on to the case--which takes a variety of dizzying twists and turns before climaxing on a remote island, where our hero is bedevilled not only by the danger at hand, but also by terrifying flashbacks to the Vietnam war. Based on Babs H. Deal's novel The Walls Came Tumbling Down, Friendships, Secrets and Lies is about...just what the title says it's about. An old college building is bulldozed, revealing the skeleton of a newborn baby stuffed in the air shaft. Forensic tests prove that the infant died twenty years earlier, at which time the building had served as a girl's sorority house. Seven students were living in the house at the time of the death, and all currently live in the same city; at least six of these ladies had opportunity, and possibly motive, for the baby's murder. This horrendous horror spoof stars David Niven, who manages to keep a stiff upper lip as the title character. The Count, by now too old to dine out, must instead host tours of his castle in order to lure fresh victims. Hoping to resurrect his dead lover through the blood of a suitably beautiful woman with the correct type, he fortunately manages to rent the old homestead to a group of voluptuous Playboy bunnies for a photo shoot; he winds up draining the blood of a gorgeous black model who fits the bill. Much to his surprise, his lover returns as Teresa Graves, and he too becomes black by the end of this startlingly unfunny (and mildly racist) attempt at a sexy spoof of the standard Dracula theme. ~ Jeremy Beday, All Movie Guide
