A noble knight battles a wicked witch in a bid to save humanity from an ancient evil in this supernatural thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. Upon returning to his home in Europe, crusading knight Behmen (Cage) finds his faith beginning to falter due to the brutality he's witnessed on the battlefield. The Black Plague has decimated the countryside, forcing Behmen and his loyal companion, Felson (Perlman), to seek sustenance and supplies at the Palace of Marburg. They're weary from war, but they're about to discover that their struggle is just beginning. Commanded by the moribund Cardinal to deliver a suspected witch to the abbey where her powers can be abolished, Behman accepts the assignment under the condition that the young peasant girl will receive a fair trial. The church believes the girl to be the one responsible for the Black Plague, and they may be right, too. As the two men and a small group of chaperones set out on their arduous mission, they quickly realize that their young charge is something more than human, and that they're about to face an evil beyond human comprehension. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

As a three-hour miniseries (adapted from Terry Pratchetts novel of the same name) that originally aired on Britain's Sky One television, Going Postal (2010) unfolds in the fictional land of Ankh-Morpork. Standing center stage is Moist von Lipwig (Richard Coyle), a master con artist who spends his days devising elaborate scams to fleece locals. The law finally catches up with Moist in the form of Lord Vetinari (Charles Dance), who offers the criminal an odd ultimatum: he can either take over the derelict post office, or die a long and painful death. Moist chooses the former, and is soon put in charge of thousands upon thousands of undelivered letters and packages. He must also contend with a nutty staff and the doings of Reacher Gilt (David Suchet), a crooked businessman hell-bent on destroying his competitors. Also present is Adora Dearheart (Claire Foy), an ice water-veined woman for whom Moist falls. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

A family is abruptly confronted with ugly side of their history in this independent drama from Great Britain. David (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dawn (Claire Foy) are a couple who have moved from the city to a small rural community in Kent, where David lived as a boy. David enjoys his new job (which occupies much of his time) and the serenity of the countryside, but Dawn is less enamored with her new career as a housewife, and she's becoming frustrated with their unsuccessful efforts to have a baby. One day, Dawn is surprised by the arrival of her brother Nick (Shaun Evans), who is back on leave after serving in Afghanistan. Dawn is happy to see Nick, but David is significantly more wary, and as it becomes increasingly clear that Nick's experiences in combat have taken a fearsome emotional toll on him, he begins discussing some painful secrets from his family's past, some of which also involve David. Wreckers was the first dramatic feature from director D.R. Hood, who was previously responsible for a handful of documentaries and short subjects. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
