Originally aired on The Discovery Channel, director Stuart Taylor's true crime documentary details the grisly exploits of serial killers Charles Ng and Leonard Lakes, who are together suspected of torturing and murdering as many as 25 people at Lake's Calaveras County, California cabin. In 1985 Lake was arrested for shoplifting at a California hardware store. When he committed suicide in police custody, suspicious detectives decided to search the cabin that the two men shared. Few could have foreseen that this simple arrest would quickly lead authorities to one of the most horrific crime scenes homicide detectives had ever encountered. Upon discovering human remains in the driveway leading to the ranch, the police prepared to charge Ng with 12 counts of murder. Shortly thereafter, Ng was arrested in Canada on shoplifting charges. He was extradited to the U.S. in September of 1991, and sentenced to death. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Comedian and former health writer Tom Naughton dispenses with the false truths perpetuated in such documentaries as Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me by demonstrating why nearly everything the public has been told about obesity and healthy eating is pure bologna. By losing weight on a high-fat, fast food diet comprised of such dreaded artery-hardeners as double Quarter Pounders and fried chicken, Naughton proves that it's entirely possible to maintain a healthy weight while not depriving ourselves of our favorite foods. Conversations with doctors, nutritionists, and political scientists back up Naughton's claim that government agencies, researchers, scientists, and alarmist documentaries have made Americans so frightened of food that we're losing our ability to enjoy what we eat. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

It marked one of the strangest and most beguiling series of events in memory, and one convincing enough to challenge even the most hardened skeptics. Marrieds Andy and Lisa Wyrick found their world turned upside-down when their four-year-old daughter, Heidi, claimed to be enjoying regular visits with "Mr. Gordy," a gray-haired older man who would regularly chat with her and push her on a swing. Curiously, no one else could ever see Mr. Gordy, and instead, the Wyricks often found their daughter sitting in her room and blankly having conversations with an empty space. Soon, Heidi identified a second figure, known as Con - this one a slightly malevolent, one-armed figure covered in blood - and began to witness a faceless apparition drifting through the house. Curiously, the parents researched the phenomenon and indeed found that two deceased neighbors, named Mr. Gordy and Con, had once inhabited the premises. The situation grew direr when the spirits began harming the family - Heidi turned up with claw marks in her face, and Andy with claw marks on his side. With nothing else left to do, the family summoned parapsychologist Dr. William Roll. This documentary travels inside of the Wyricks' eerie case for a point-by-point examination of the details. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

As co-directed by Joe Wiecha and Tom Naughton, this historically-charged documentary plunges into an unusual series of military events that involved the anti-terrorist squad known as the Royal Dutch Marines (RDM). In the crisis in question, the RDM was faced with a nightmare that erupted when South Moluccan terrorists assumed control of not one but two targets, concurrently - a primary school full of children and a commuter train loaded with passengers - making them doubly difficult to stop. Naughton and Wiecha recount this horrifying yet gripping story, fixing a keen eye on the details. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

In the early 1990s, at the height of the Persian Gulf War, a cadre of British SAS commandos received orders to risk their safety and their lives by infiltrating Iraq, and locating and dismantling a network of mobile scud missile launchers. Terrifyingly, they wound up behind enemy lines, ensnared by the myopia of poor government intelligence and forced to contend with one another and the disadvantageous situation for survival. In the documentary release Special Forces: Untold Stories: The British SAS - Attack in the Desert, director Tom Naughton relays this suspenseful and seldom-heard story of military life on the edge. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
