This B-movie from director Rodman Flender (The Unborn) was originally broadcast on Showtime's Roger Corman Presents series. Joan Severance stars as a cop who becomes a leather-clad superhero named Black Scorpion when her father is murdered in a barroom shooting. The murder is part of a seemingly random crimewave engineered by an asthmatic villain called the Breathtaker, who wears a big metal suit like comic book bad-guy Dr. Doom. Breathtaker is planning to turn the whole city into his wheezing slaves by way of poisoned gas masks, and Severance must stop him. In between, she gets former car-thief Argyle (Saturday Night Live alumnus Garrett Morris) to build her a super Scorpion-mobile and tries to keep her identity secret from former partner/lover Bruce Abbott (Re-Animator). ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Rick Rossovich guest stars as Canadian pro hockey player Mark Smithbauer, an old friend of Benton Fraser (Paul Gross). Alas, Mark is not the Mark that Fraser remembers from his youth: Where once he played for love of the game, Smithbauer has become an arrogant, money-grubbing jerk. Even worse is the fact that Mark has apparently been bribed to lose a game by vicious bookmaker Broda (Miguel Fernandes). The wedding of Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) and John Taglieri (Rick Rossovich) is complicated by the fact that bridesmaid Susan Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) is called away to care for the baby of her missing sister, Chloe (Kathleen Wilhoite). This minor crisis, however, is supplanted by a major one when Taglieri seemingly disappears from the face of the earth. And back at the ER, Carter (Noah Wyle) celebrates his last day at County General with some harsh words aimed at Benton (Eriq La Salle) -- words that Carter is forced to eat after a sudden change in the scheme of things. In yet another rubber-stamped, mid-'80s teen dancing film, hot on the success of Flashdance, a group of high schoolers called the "Adventurers Eight" from Sandusky, Ohio (known by Midwest teens for its large amusement park), decide to undertake a journey to New York City to enter the Big Showdown, a dance competition with corporate sponsors. As though Sandusky were somehow insulated from the teen culture that otherwise spreads new trends like wildfire, these teens are not aware of the latest dance crazes on the streets of New York, something they pick up while in the city. But misfortune strikes, and they lose their one connection to entering the big contest. They then have to survive the usual con artists or worse -- look for another way to get into the competition. If this script had been rehauled by teens familiar with their real language and attitudes, then the title Fast Forward would apply more to the action in the movie than the remote control. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

The plot of the futuristic made-for-TV thriller Killer Deal is predicated on the notion that a world-wide economic collapse in 2009 AD will utterly wipe out the Middle Class in America. In this not-so-brave new world, the rich and privileged Upper Class lives in Parkland, a luxurious walled community, while the Lower Class starves in the ruins of "Oldtown." With absolutely no jobs available, the poor are left with but one opportunity to escape their lot: to voluntarily donate their vital organs to the wealthy, who have bought into an organization known as "Eternity Life." The donors are provided with $10 million, which they can spend any way they wish in the 30-day period before their bodies are dissected, while their families are permitted to live in Parkland permanently. One of the few non-rich non-donors residing in the community is police sergeant James Quinn (Rick Rossovich), who is allowed to do so because of his past heroics. Unfortunately, the lives of Quinn and his family are placed in jeopardy when the elderly creator of "Eternity Life" desperately needs an organ donor to survive. Fleeing from Parkland, Quinn learns the hard way that the so-called "voluntary" donors are anything but! Stuart Rosenberg, under the guise of Alan Smithee, directed this action film concerning a soldier of fortune sent into a South American country to rescue a kidnapped American during a revolutionary upheaval. Harry Burk Jr. (Mark Harmon) and United States Ambassador Douglas (Bruce Gray) are held hostage by Colombian drug dealers who demand the release of associates who are imprisoned in the United States. But the U.S. government refuses to negotiate with the drug dealers. In disgust, Harry's brother Corey (Michael Schoeffling) and three of his friends (Tom Wilson, Glen Frey, and Rick Rossovich), along with an adventurous auto dealer named Jack (Gary Busey), hire mercenary soldier Shrike (Robert Duvall) to sneak into Columbia and rescue Harry. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide
