A group of hardened Nazi killers stalk their prey in Nazi-occupied France as a Jewish cinema owner plots to take down top-ranking SS officers during the official premiere of a high-profile German propaganda film. As far as Lt. Aldo Raine (aka Aldo the Apache," Brad Pitt) -- is concerned, the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi. Raine's mission is to strike fear into the heart of Adolf Hitler by brutally murdering as many goose-steppers as possible, or die trying. In order to accomplish that goal, Lt. When the Basterds' secret rendezvous with turncoat German actress Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) goes awry, they learn that the Nazis will be staging the French premiere of "The Nation's Pride," a rousing propaganda film based on the exploits of German hero Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brühl), at a modest theater owned by Jewish cinephile Shoshanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent), posing as a Gentile after the brutal murder of her family by the ruthless Col. Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). A woman searching for a miracle seemingly finds one -- but what comes next? Christine (Sylvie Testud) has spent most of her life confined to a wheelchair, unable to use her arms and legs, and while she has a keen mind and the means to seek treatment, she looks for a solution to her condition in faith as well as medical science. Christine has made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, the village in Southwestern France where a celebrated miracle is said to have occurred, and she checks into an upscale clinic where a young nurse named Maria (Léa Seydoux) is assigned to look after her. Christine imagines that she and Maria are becoming fast friends, but the nurse prefers to spend her time with her co-workers rather than her patients, and she often flirts with Kuno (Bruno Todeschini), a handsome man who also works at the clinic. Christine finds herself having several conversations with Mme. Hartl (Gilette Barbier), who has a powerful belief in the healing powers of the waters of Lourdes, and after several days of treatment, Christine is amazed to find that she's regained the full use of her arms and legs. But once she's experienced the miracle she hoped for, Christine's interest is less in thanking the Lord and more in pursuing Kuno. A road trip across Europe turns into a game of romantic and sexual musical chairs in this drama from director Sebastien Lifshitz. Sam (Yannick Renier) is a twenty-seven year old who has a tenuous relationship with his family, so when he hears from his mother for the first time in years, he hops in his battered old Ford and sets out on a road trip from his home in France to Spain, where she is staying. Initially Sam is traveling solo, but when loneliness starts to get to him he picks up a pair of hitchhiking teenagers, Lea (Lea Seydoux) and her brother Mathieu (Theo Frilet). It isn't long before Lea, who is pregnant, makes it clear that's she's attracted to Sam, and Mathieu, who is gay, also makes himself available to Sam. In time, Sam pairs off with Mathieu, and Lea turns her attentions to another traveler, Jeremie (Pierre Perrier). But the young drifters find themselves in a tough spot when Sam abruptly decides to move on without them. The new president of a prominent cleaning product company attempts to ease his guilty conscience by repaying the man whose ideas he once stole, only to find the situation leading to a murder and an unlikely love affair. Etienne is about to become the new head of a successful industrial company when he crosses paths with Patrick, a childhood friend he hasn't seen in years. When Etienne reveals to Patrick that his success came only after he stole his concept for a revolutionary stain remover from sheepish chemist Michelet, Patrick suggests that Etienne track down Michelet, and offer restitution. Everything starts to fall apart, however, when Patrick kills Michelet, and scrambles to cover up his crime. Meanwhile, as the police focus their investigation on Etienne, his marriage starts to fall apart after he falls for Michelet's captivating daughter Fleur.
