As indicated by its title, this episode of The Andy Griffith Show served as the pilot for the spinoff series Mayberry RFD. Ken Berry makes his first appearance as widowed Mayberry farmer Sam Jones (though the episode was shown out of production order, making it Berry's third appearance). When his old friend, Italian laborer Mario (Gabrielle Tinti), shows up in town, Sam generously hires Mario as a handyman-little realizing that the enterprising foreigner has brought his entire family along. Generally considered the first real giallo film, Mario Bava's stylish thriller stars Leticia Roman as Nora, who travels to Rome to visit her sick aunt. The aunt dies that night, and Nora ends up witnessing a murder. The police and kindly Dr. Bassi (John Saxon) don't believe her, since there is no body, so she goes to stay with her aunt's friends, the Cravens. Along the way, there are several more murders tied to a decade-long string of killings of victims chosen in alphabetical order by surname. The surprising ending is worth staying around for, as is an amusing supporting performance by Valentina Cortese. Bava would go on to further codify many of the giallo genre's conventions in Sei Donne per l'Assassino the following year. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
In this high-seas adventure set in the 1600s, a British sea captain must go undercover, join a pirate band, and capture the notorious Captain Henry Morgan. But Morgan is on to the ruse and is well prepared when the sea captain makes his move. As the two engage in mortal combat, they are knocked unconscious and dragged to the governor of Tortuga who prepares to hang them both as pirates. Fortunately, a stowaway aboard the pirate vessel steps forward and reveals the hero's true identity and saves him. Morgan is not so lucky. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Director Gordon M. Douglas specializes in comedy and action films, and here he puts the two genres together for a generally successful, well-acted chase drama. Two partners, Jim (Clint Walker) and Shawn (Roger Moore) have had the good fortune to find a gold fortune, but just after their strike, they end up in serious trouble. Word of their newfound status gets out to the wrong people, and before they have any time to cash in their chips and retire, they are running like the wind from a variety of money-grubbing marauders whose only goal in life is to return Jim and Shawn to their original impoverished state. Mel Ferrer buckles his swash for the Italian actioner Charge of the Black Lancers. Cast as a sword-wielding patriot, Ferrer challenges his enemies individually and collectively at every opportunity. Things become sticky when he is forced to contend with a traitorous sibling. Leading lady Yvonne Furneaux has little to do but look ravishing in low-cut period costumes; this she does exceedingly well. Charge of the Black Lancers was one of several European productions in which Ferrer starred in the early 1960s, while wife Audrey Hepburn held down the fort, as it were, in Hollywood. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Elvis Presley stars in GI Blues as Tulsa McLean, a soldier stationed in Germany, who pulls strings to stage a big show for his fellow GI's. In the tradition of the musical chestnut The Fleet's In, Tulsa also bets his buddies that he can date "ice princess" entertainer Lili (Juliet Prowse). Song highlights include "Wooden Heart," "Blue Suede Shoes" and the title number. The spectacular box-office performance of G.I.
