Writer-director Darren Fisher's innuendo-laden romantic comedy Popcorn unfurls entirely within the confines of a British multiplex known as "Moovieworld," where 19-year-old Danny (Jack Ryder) accepts a job with the intention of wooing and winning over usherette Suki (Jodi Albert) - little realizing that it is her last day at the theater. Faced with a very short amount of time in which to act, a desperate Danny cooks up a host of wild schemes designed to catch Suki's attention. He is assisted in his pursuits by fellow worker and consummate movie addict Zak (Luke de Woolfsoon) who vows to teach him the tricks of the trade as illustrated in various romantic movies. Meanwhile, theatrical manager Kris (Andrew-Lee Potts) learns of a "management plant" at the theater making a bundle by reselling old tickets, and decides to reel in the culprit, red-handed. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Sixty-five years after making his screen debut as a young stoker in co-directors Noël Coward and David Lean's World War II drama In Which We Serve, Richard Attenborough perfects the balance between epic story and intimate tale with this drama starring Shirley MacLaine and Neve Campbell as a mother and daughter who find a relic from the past sparking an incendiary series of events. The year is 1991, and as a small American town mourns the passing of beloved World War II veteran Chuck Harris, his wife Ethel (MacLaine) numbs herself with alcohol to the point where she completely neglects her grieving daughter Marie (Campbell). Later, after Marie receives a telephone call from a boy in Northern Ireland who claims to have recently discovered a ring belonging to Ethel, a mystery nearly five decades in the making comes slowly into focus as the story drifts back into Chuck's wartime past and the days when he and Ethel first formed their powerful bond. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A Brighton bad boy discovers the thrill of the race, leading him on an explosive collision course with a longtime rival. Brent Black lives in one of the roughest parts of town, and spends most days looking after his alcoholic father and younger brother. About a year ago, Brent purchased a Ford Capri for fifty quid, and ever since then he's been under the hood tinkering away. Now he's got the fastest, meanest Capri in the country, and as a result he's become the default leader of the coolest racing gang in Brighton. But as winter closes in, a new challenge appears: The Bling London Boy Racers fear no road, and they drive like they're headed straight to hell. They think they can leave Brent's seasoned crew of asphalt shredders in the dust, but just one week before the big race everything starts to fall apart.
