Wayde Preston Movies
American actor Wayde Preston may best be remembered for appearing in a string of spaghetti Westerns from the late '60s though the early '70s. Between 1957 and 1959, Preston played secret agent Christopher Colt on the popular television Western Colt .45 but eventually left as part of the notorious "Warner Bros. walkout" during which other television stars, including James Garner and Clint Walker, went on strike to protest low wages. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie GuideIn this Italian western, an outlaw enlists the aid of his pal and a robber gang to pull off a gold heist. Later, the gang argues about how the loot should be split. The robber gang then absconds with the gold leaving the other pair in the dust. The outlaw and friend set off to capture the treacherous gang. They finally find them in a Mexican town where the residents are celebrating a religious festival. A terrible shootout ensues. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

This Dino De Laurentiis-produced re-creation of the decisive Italian military operation top-bills Robert Mitchum as a battle-weary war correspondent. Robert Ryan and Arthur Kennedy play generals, Peter Falk is the lovable Brooklynese corporal, and Earl Holliman is the country-boy sergeant. Anzio was based on the book by Wynford Vaughan Thomas. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Originally telecast December 8, 1963, "The Waiting Game" introduces Kathie Browne in the recurring role of Laura Dayton. When Laura's husband Frank (Wade Preston) is killed, she decides not to reveal this tragic fact to her wide-eyed little daughter Peggy (Katie Sweet), who is anxiously awaiting her daddy's return. Agreeing to help keep Laura's secret, Adam Cartwright finds himself falling in love with her. Written by Ed Adamson, this episode was to have been the first of eight to ten installments leading up to the marriage of Laura Dayton and Adam Cartwright-and, ultimately, Pernell Roberts' departure from the series. But thanks to the protests of Bonanza's female fans, things did not quite turn out as planned. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Wayde Preston took a break from his starring duties on the Warner Bros. western series Colt. 45 for a guest stint in this episode of Maverick. Preston is cast as Waco Williams, a trigger-happy gent who manages to get into trouble even when he goes out of the way to avoid it. Riding into Bent City with Waco at his side, Bret (James Garner) soon finds himself in the middle of a range war between cattlemen and homesteaders. Though Bret tries to broker a peace between the two warring factions, his efforts are scuttled by the troublesome Waco, who in addition to his other shortcomings happens to be an outlaw with a price on his head. Future Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher does an ingenue turn in this episode, which earned Maverick its highest-ever ratings. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Arriving in Hound Dog, Tennessee to collect a gambling debt, Bart (Jack Kelly) makes the acquaintance of the gorgeous Nancy Sutliff (Anita Sands), who claims to be a witch--and apparently has the "conjurin'" skills to prove it. Not surprisingly, Nancy instantly falls in love with Bart. . .which could prove hazardous to his health, thanks to the girl's two brutish brothers Zack (William B. Corrie) and Ox (Sheldon Allman). Topping the guest cast in this episode is Wayde Preston, fresh from a successful three-year run on another Warner Bros. TV western, Colt .45. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
One of seventeen sequels to Gianfranco Parolini's 1968 spaghetti western Sartana, this slow-moving entry has very little, if anything, to do with the series. The story concerns gunman Lee Calloway (William Berger), who agrees to help three outlaws break out of jail in exchange for half of their stolen gold. Calloway carries through with his end of the bargain, but the outlaws betray him and leave him in the desert to die. After wandering for days, Calloway is rescued by Esther (Jolanda Modio), who nurses him back to health only to trick him as well in order to collect a reward for his life. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
Smokey (Gene Price) is the good guy (sort of) in this low-budget chasefest. Our law-officer hero copes as best he can with three larcenous young lasses. Whenever the action lags, the audience has plenty of exposed female epidermis to gape at. Featured in the cast of Smokey and the Judge is veteran actor Wade Preston. If the name doesn't ring a bell, try to recall the popular late-1950s western series Colt .45 ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

After a rancher serves his prison sentence for a crime he did not commit, he contracts a gang of killers to hunt down the man who framed him. ~ Kristie Hassen, All Movie Guide
The English-language title and the Anglo-Saxon name of the director (Alex Burks) of this film would tend to lead one to surmise that A Long Ride From Hell is a Hollywood western. But wait! That terrain looks awfully Italian, and it so happens that Alex Burks is really Camillo Bazzoni. You'll probably catch onto the film's country of origin the moment Steve "Hercules" Reeves rides into view; Reeves (who co-wrote the screenplay) plays a rancher framed on a train-robbery charge. "Long" and "Hell" are the operative words here. Originally titled Vivo per la Tua Morte, this sleep-inducer was Steve Reeves' cinematic swan song. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
