Adapted from the multi-talented playwright/filmmaker's hit stage play of the same name, Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family finds the cantankerous family matriarch using her unique brand of tough love to help her family weather some particularly rough waters. Madea's niece Shirley has received a frightening medical diagnosis, and she's having a hard time figuring out how to break the news to the rest of the family. Unfortunately she's not the only one in the midst of a crisis, either: Kimberly is suffering from anger issues that are threatening to destroy her marriage; Tammy's marital problems are being compounded by her disobedient children; and Byron is struggling to stay out of the drug trade after spending two years behind bars. Later, as a skeleton in the family closet pops into the picture, Madea and Aunt Bam show that love and laugher can help to overcome even the biggest obstacles. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

As the girls of Lambda sorority make their way towards the finals at this year's national stepping championships, dedicated team captain Destiny (Faune Chambers) attempts to keep her team focused on victory despite attempts by her scheming rival Pam (Angell Conwell) to prevent them from taking the top prize. Destiny is the kind of team captain whose enthusiasm is infectious, yet lately her spirits have been slightly dampened by her former friend and current nemesis Pam. Pam is intensely jealous of the Lambda girls' immense talent, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to undermine the team's confidence. As if keeping her team on the path to victory isn't job enough for the perpetually perky Destiny, she's also working overtime to win the heart of her longtime love interest Fabian (Bryce Wilson). Will Destiny endure and astound the judges at the national stepping championships while laying the groundwork for true romance, or will dark cloud Pam prove effective in preventing her old friend from dancing her way to greatness. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The couple that slays together stays together in this satirical suspense comedy about a bored husband and wife who accidentally discover that they're natural born killers. Brian and Tanya Diggs have always been the timid couple that is too self-conscious to cut loose and have fun. When therapy fails and all the passion in their relationship withers away, Brian and Tanya become convinced that they are destined to lead a life of stale repetition. But one night, when Brian becomes locked into a confrontation that calls for him to kill or be killed, he is shocked to discover that he takes great pleasure in murder. When Brian confesses his murderous crime in Tanya, the mousy housewife isn't quite sure how to react. Soon Brian is feeling better than ever, and eager to kill again. But the second murder doesn't go quite as smooth as the first, and when it begins to look as if Brian will end up on the wrong end of the knife Tanya rushes to her husband's aid. Now having officially claimed her first victim, Tanya realizes that she too has a taste for killing. Now, as the newly invigorated couple embarks on a murderous mission to rid the world of the worst that society has to offer, they realize that there's no problem a few butchers knives and a screaming victim or two can't make right. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Comedian Cedric the Entertainer serves as both producer and star of this comedy about a family who discovers just how much can go wrong en route to a family get-together. When Nate Johnson (Cedric the Entertainer) is invited to a big family reunion in Missouri, he sees it as an opportunity to reconnect with his estranged wife and growing children, as well as a chance to show up his wealthier know-it-all brother, Mack (Steve Harvey). Nate takes delivery on an expensive new SUV, persuades his recently separated wife, Dorothy (Vanessa L. Williams), to tag along, and packs up his three kids -- nubile teenager Nikki (Solange Knowles), under-age wannabe rapper D.J. (Bow Wow), and precocious seven-year-old Destiny (Gabby Soleil) -- for what he imagines will be a leisurely drive from Los Angeles to St. Louis. However, between his wary wife, arguing kids, angry police officers, bizarre hitchhikers, bad diner food, and an unfortunate run-in with a cement mixer, getting from point A to point B proves to be just short of a nightmare. Johnson Family Vacation was the first feature film for director Christopher Erskin, who previously distinguished himself directing music videos for the likes of Missy Elliot, TLC, and Boyz II Men. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
