A love-struck teenager finds his troubles with girls only get worse when he develops a thirst for blood in this rock musical. Dylan Knight (Lucas Grabeel) is a high-school student who carries a torch for Sarah Lane (Adrian Slade), a pretty girl in his class. Dylan is still trying to get their romance out of first gear when, during a camping trip, he has an unexpected run-in with Trey Sylvaine (Drew Seeley), a goth-styled teen with a secret -- he's a vampire, and after a bite on the neck, so is Dylan. Dylan isn't so sure he likes being part of the undead, despite Trey's efforts to ingratiate him into the cult of the young and bloodthirsty, and he's even more troubled by the impact his new non-life is having on his relationship with Sarah. Prepare for plenty of music, lots of dancing, and even a little magic in this reworking of the Cinderella legend featuring High School Musical star Drew Seeley as a young Prince Charming in search of the ideal girl. It's never easy being the new kid in school, but young Joey (Seeley) is determined to make the most of his new surroundings. If only he were to find a pretty girl who was willing to teach him the ropes around his new high school, Joey could finally stop fretting about fitting in. Moving from the Big City to a cloistered suburban community, Violet Jacobs (Christy Carlson Romano) suffers the shock of being a fish out of water in her new high school, where the popular kids (cheerleaders, football jocks et. al.) are given all the breaks and the unpopular ones are treated like lepers--even by the teachers. The social hierarchy is so lopsided that those student on "the outside" don't even get to walk on the same side of the hallway as the "in crowd". Her sense of justice and fair play aroused, Violet teams up with another social outcast named Cordelia (Keri Lynn Pratt) and establishes "The Tattler", a school newspaper dedicated to exposing the awful truth about the "in" kids. Not surprisingly, this action sparks a number of crises, notably when Principal Glavin (Wiliam Ragsdale) declares his intention to close down the newspaper and build a health spa (!) in its place. . .and especially when one of Violet's spicy news items all but ruins the reputation of Brandon (Teddy Dunn), the boy she loves.
