Stacey Aswad Movies

A native of Binghamton, NY, multifaceted Stacey Aswad took her foray into show business at the age of five, in the arena of competitive artistic roller-skating -- a sport in which she ultimately snagged five national champion titles. Aswad formally trained as a dance major at Juilliard, then danced and choreographed in Gotham for a period, before studying acting at such institutions as Caryn West's Space for Actors, the Alexia Robinson Studio, and the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio, and training in improv at L.A.'s famed Groundlings company (onetime home to Edie McClurg and Phil Hartman). In subsequent years, Aswad maintained a careful balance in multiple entertainment venues; relocating to North Carolina, she snagged a role on the television series 7th Street Theater, then landed a job for Disney, as the company's theme park hostess in its guided travel films. That assignment caught the attention of Hollywood agent-cum-director Richard Kraft, who tapped Aswad to emcee his own documentary Finding Kraftland, about a globetrotting trek taken by Richard and his son Nicky. Aswad also landed one of the leads in the gentle romantic comedy Me & You, Us, Forever (2008), as the high-school sweetheart of a recent divorcée. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
