Tim Gunn Movies

A former associate dean at Parsons the New School for Design, Tim Gunn went on to reconfigure the New York-based school's curriculum for the 21st century as the chair of the Department of Fashion Design. In addition to his association with Parsons, Gunn is also a noted lecturer whose ideas have graced the pages of such diverse publications as Time, Martha Stewart Living, and Crain's New York Business. In 2004, Gunn began co-hosting the Bravo reality series Project Runway alongside fashion icon Heidi Klum. In late 2007, he also launched his own Bravo makeover show, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, co-hosting with model Veronica Webb. He made news when he became one of the first prominent celebrities to contribute to the "It Gets Better" campaign aimed at helping prevent suicides among gay and lesbian high-school students. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The stars of the hit HBO series reunite with original writer/producer/director Michael Patrick King to deliver this sequel that finds the ladies venturing outside New York City for the adventure of a lifetime. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) are all married now, but they're still up for a little fun in the sun. When Samantha (Kim Cattrall) gets the chance to visit one of the most extravagant vacation destinations on the planet and offers to bring them all along, they surmise that a women-only retreat may be the perfect excuse to eschew their responsibilities and remember what life was like before they decided to settle down. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Project Runway's favorite fashion counselor Tim Gunn hosted this weekly, 60-minute cable reality series, in which he helped the "fashion weary" reinvent themselves with fabulous makeovers. After first assessing the style ideas of the week's guest (or guests), Gunn did his best to carry them out--with the proviso that his own rules be followed to the letter. Matters of wardrobe, shopping and home decoration were considered by Gunn and his specially selected "fashion accomplice" (Veronica Webb during the series' first season). As a bonus, the series' producers offered an interactive fashion game on BravoTV.com. Based on his own book self-help book Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style joined Bravo's nighttime lineup on September 6, 2007. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The stakes are stiletto high for another batch of daring designers aspiring to, as style mentor Tim Gunn requests, "make it work" in Season 4 of the popular reality-competition series hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. Standout contestants include Chris March, a sensitive costume designer with a memorable laugh; Christian Siriano, outlandish in both attitude and fashion sense; and Kathleen "Sweet P" Vaughn, whose subdued designs belie her tattooed exterior. Sarah Jessica Parker, Donna Karan, Roberto Cavalli, and Victoria Beckham are among the guest judges joining series regulars Klum, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia to critique and eliminate the clothiers. Tiki Barber appears in an episode that finds the designers crafting a look for the former NFL player to wear on air. Other memorable challenges include using candy to make a garment, refitting an outfit for women who have lost weight, and updating outdated sportswear. ~ Mario DiMaio, Rovi
