Such, however, is not the cases with the Huxtable children, who are terrified that Clair will rend the household asunder with hot flashes and mood swings--and thus begin treating her as if she is an invalid, driving her crazy in the process. Alas, not only does Elvin stay out too late, but he further aggravates the situation by paying for dinner, an act of generosity than he can barely afford. The family gathers to celebrate the 98th birthday of Cliff's Great-Aunt Harriet "Gramtee" McCutcheon (Minnie Gentry). Although most of the family members are enthralled by Gramtee's fascinating stories about the old days (both bad and good), Olivia (Raven-Symone) is at first sullen and unresponsive, angered that the party has spoiled her plans to go to the zoo. Ultimately, Denise (Lisa Bonet) takes charge of the situation, proving beyond doubt that she is taking her newfound maternal responsibilities very, very seriously. Denise (Lisa Bonet) has trouble understanding why Sondra (Sabrina LeBeauf) is so worn out taking care of her twins Nelson and Winnie--or at least, she HAD trouble understanding until she herself volunteers to spend an evening as babysitter. Our heroine soon gets a clue to what she's in for when the power fails and the twins start screaming uncontrollably. because they can't watch their favorite video. But the situation doesn't really spiral out of control until Denise forgets about baby Winnie's food allergy.
