The Delta Force, a special squadron of military commandos trained to handle high-risk missions, have been given one of their most dangerous assignments to date: Find and rescue a missing peacekeeping force who've been captured by a terrorist faction in the war-torn Middle East. But the Delta Force discovers their job has become even more dangerous when they learn that the terrorists have closed a deal with a black market arms dealer, and are now in the possession of a nuclear arsenal that they can launch at any time. Delta Force One: The Lost Patrol stars Gary Daniels, Mike Norris, and Bentley Mitchum; Norris and Mitchum both come from show biz families, as the former is the son of martial arts star Chuck Norris and the latter is the grandson of Hollywood legend Robert Mitchum. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

In an anti-Russian film that is a hangover from Cold War polemics, three young Americans knowingly cross the Finno-Russian border while on a hunting trip and land in a grim Soviet prison. While U.S. diplomats work on the Americans' release, prisoners are dying in a macabre game of chess in which they are pawns. Anxious to get out of prison as of yesterday, the red-white-and-blue trio plan their escape with the involvement of a mysterious black American prisoner. In a conventional teen movie that condemns violence in the dialogue then supplies it in the action sequences, a young woman is gang raped and murdered in a California college town, sparking her brother Kevin (James Van Patten) to take up arms by night with a gang of like-minded vigilantes from his fraternity, brutally punishing any miscreants they catch in a criminal act. In the meantime, Kevin debates the issue of violent crime in the U.S. with his teachers and others during the day. As Kevin and his gang head toward a final, bloody confrontation with the low-lifes who murdered his sister, other scenes show the difference between his character, now violent, and the normal people he is supposedly protecting. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
