Hustle & Flow director Craig Brewer takes the helm for this remake of the popular 1984 musical romance about a big-city teen who moves to a town that has outlawed dancing. Uprooted from Boston and reluctantly transplanted to the small Bible Belt town of Bomont, Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) finds himself in a repressed community still reeling from a devastating loss. Shortly before he arrived in Bomont, five local teens perished in a tragic car accident following a local dance. As a result, the upstanding Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) and the local councilmen passed a strict ordinance outlawing both dancing and excessively loud music. Convinced that the new law is hopelessly misguided, rebellious Ren puts on his dancing shoes and wins the heart of Reverend Moore's distraught daughter, Ariel (Julianne Hough), while showing his fellow classmates that it's perfectly normal to blow off a little steam with some loud music and good friends. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A handful of scientists trying to unravel a mystery discover a terror beyond their wildest nightmares in this thriller from directors Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland. Friar, NH, is a small town with a bizarre history; in 1940, the 572 people who lived there all left their homes and marched up a mountain trail never to return. When a search party led by the military was conducted months later, some of the missing townspeople were discovered brutally murdered while others froze to death, but the majority were never found. The search party's final report was classified, but a team of university historians and anthropologists has obtained a copy of their findings and travels to Friar in hopes of charting the mysterious lost trail. Most of the people of Friar treat the long-ago disappearance as some sort of urban legend and most flatly refuse to discuss it with the visitors, but one eccentric woman says she knows how to find the trail, and will show them where it is if she's allowed to tag along. The researchers agree, and they set out along the head of the trail, marked by a stone with the legend "YellowBrickRoad." As they climb farther up the mountain, they hear a faint music that grows louder with each step, and a collective madness begins to overtake them as they come closer to the place where the people of Friar met their fate. YellowBrickRoad was an official selection at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Inspired by the tragic true-life story of high school starting quarterback Luke Abbate, who died as a result of injuries sustained in a reckless driving incident just four days shy of his 16th birthday, director Rick Bieber's earnest docudrama shows how Luke's untimely death motivated his older brother Jon to lead the Wake Forest football team through the most successful season in the school's history, and saved the lives of five people in desperate need of organ transplants. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

As glasses are raised for a New Year's Eve toast, the denizens of the city of Terminus fall prey to a mysterious transmission that pulses through all electronic devices and transforms rational, sane people into murderous, rampaging psychopaths. All forms of communication have been jammed, and now the airwaves have been saturated with an ominous signal that preys on fear and deep-rooted desire. Though Terminus was once a city defined by conformity, any semblance of order in this concrete jungle has now been replaced with screaming, bloody chaos. Fortunately, Ben has managed to avoid having his brain scrambled by the signal, and now he's determined to make his way through the bedlam that's sweeping the streets and rescue the woman he loves. It's not going to be an easy task, though, and in order to sweep his love to safety, Ben will first have to face off against her rabid husband. In a city where everyone seems to have lost their mind, the only way Ben will be able to determine who he can trust and who has given in to their bloodlust is to find out the true origins of this ominous broadcast. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
