An attorney fighting a corrupt system is battling his own demons as he tries to do right by others in this drama based on a true story. Vicky (Vinessa Shaw) is a nurse at a hospital in Houston whose life takes an unexpected turn when she accidentally jabs herself with a used syringe. The needle had been used on a patient who was HIV-positive, and Vicky contracts AIDS. Jeffrey Danfort (Marshall Bell) is a close friend of Vicky's who designs medical equipment, and he's inspired to invent a syringe with a safety point that would prevent such mistakes. However, as Jeffrey tries to sell his new invention to pharmaceutical manufacturers, he discovers how much they're governed by corruption and insider dealings. Jeffrey decides to take on the dishonest firms with a lawsuit, and he secures the services of Weiss & Danziger, a small law office eager for any kind of business. But while Paul Danziger (Mark Kassen) needs the work to support his wife and children, Mike Weiss (Chris Evans) is more concerned with supporting his cocaine habit, which is spiraling out of control. An unconnected group of people find themselves drawn together at a haunted attraction on the side of a highway, only to realize that the very gates of hell await them inside. For years, Jerrod (Jude Hickey) has been haunted by nightmares that pit him against a group of hooded figures that chase him to death himself, which might just yet come true when he discovers the Necrophobia: Museum of the Demented and the Damned. At the same time, a young woman plans to search the bowels of the same attraction for her lost nephew just as two drunken DJs are about to do a live remote show inside the building for their radio station. Four aspiring music stars from the Bronx barrio pool their talents to hit it big in this music comedy starring popular Latin singer Marc Anthony. Jessica Ramos (Corina Katt Ayala) may have a voice than could melt your heart, but her tough-girl attitude is solid stone. While Jessica's sister Francesco (Iris Chachon) is a popular attraction at a local Latin nightclub, Jessica's volatile attitude has made it virtually impossible for the more amiable sibling to make inroads into the recording industry. Meanwhile, the sibling's freeloading cousin Jonathan receives the brunt of Jessica's bad attitude. When Jonathan meets local charmer Flaco (Anthony), things begin to look up a bit. Sure Flaco has his own problems to contend with - including the recent loss of his mother and his father's drinking problem - but at his core Flaco is essentially a good person.
