What's Love Got to Do With It? is the filmed biography of R&B/pop singer Tina Turner (Angela Bassett), documenting her efforts to break away from her abusive husband Ike (Laurence Fishburne). After a few scenes detailing Tina's life as a young singer in Nutbush, TN, she's discovered by Ike Turner, an already established songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Ike takes Tina under his wing and makes her a star, but her fame makes him jealous and abusive, and she has to struggle to break free of his domination. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Movie Guide

Sarah Pillsbury and Midge Sanford, the producing team responsible for the theatrical-movie "sleeper" The River's Edge, were the mentors of the made-for-TV Seeds of Tragedy. Filmed in semi-documentary fashion, the story involves a single cache of cocaine, from creation to consumption. The coca leaves are initially harvested by poor farmers in the Peruvian Andes. The coca moves forward to a small-time Amazon trader; then it is powdered under the supervision of a Colombian gangster, and finally it winds up on the mean streets of LA. Partially filmed in Mexico with a cast of relative unknowns, Seeds of Tragedy was an unusually potent entry in the Fox Network's "Monday Night Movie" series. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
An axe-wielding homicidal maniac terrorizes a tiny town in this slasher outing. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
Bradley Brinkman (Steve Levitt) is a computer nerd who makes a deal with the Devil (James Coco) in this teen comedy. He is transformed into Hunk Golden (John Allen Nelson), the muscular blonde-haired, blue-eyed California heartthrob. She-devil O'Brien (Deborah Shelton) threatens to change the popular Hunk back into the anemic Bradley if he refuses to serve the Devil on Earth. Rebecca Bush plays psychologist Sunny Graves and co-stars with Robert Morse, Constantine Constapopolis, and Avery Schreiber. James Coco, who died a few weeks before the debut of this film, gives memorable comic portrayals of a pirate, a Nazi, and a caveman in addition to a delightful devil. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

In this slice-n-dicer acclaimed pop psychologist Dr. David Kelley hosts a radio call-in show in LA. The current topic of discussion is a baffling series of murders that has been occurring throughout the town. All of the victims are beautiful real estate agents. One day he gets a strange call from "Harry," who claims that each of the victims deserved everything they got, because he believes that the real estate agents encourage the further displacement of the poor and homeless. He also describes their murders in detail. When the calls become more frequent, Dr. Kelley becomes even more concerned. He should be because his own lady love is a real estate agent. The film features considerable gore, nudity and simulated sex. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
