An actress specializing in portrayals of pampered young socialites and alluring teases, Atlanta native AnnaLynne McCord parlayed her on-camera presence and her countenance into a career as a veritable television mainstay during the mid- to late 2000s. McCord began as a series guest star with a number of bit roles on programs including The O.C., Ugly Betty, and CSI: Miami before landing a regular part as conniving sociopath Eden Lord on the irreverent and satirical primetime medical drama Nip/Tuck. As Season 5 begins, Christian (Julian McMahon) joins Sean (Dylan Walsh) in Los Angeles, where they soon discover they're pretty small fish in a very big plastic-surgery pond. Needing exposure for the practice, they hire a publicist (Lauren Hutton), who finds them work as medical advisers for the prime-time soap opera "Hearts & Scalpels." It doesn't pan out for Christian, but the opposite holds true for Sean, who begins wielding a scalpel on-screen after the show's star (Bradley Cooper) is fired in a sex scandal. Sean also dates his costar (Paula Marshall) and meets another publicist, Colleen Rose (Sharon Gless), on the set. Colleen takes an intense interest in him, but Julia (Joely Richardson), who arrives in L.A. from New York, has lost interest in him. She's also involved with someone else -- a woman named Olivia Lord (Portia de Rossi). Olivia's promiscuous and duplicitous teen daughter Eden (AnnaLynne McCord) immediately dislikes Julia. Eden also has a brief fling with Sean and ends up in a threesome with Kimber (Kelly Carlson) and Kimber's old porn boss Ram Peters (John Schneider). Kimber has left Matt (John Hensley), but they share custody of their daughter. Meanwhile, Liz (Roma Maffia) follows Christian and Sean from Miami, but leaves McNamara/Troy after a falling out with Christian. Her replacement, adventurous Theodora "Teddy" Rowe (Katee Sackhoff), a recreational anesthesia user, has an affair with Sean. And Dawn Budge (Rosie O'Donnell) finds herself at McNamara/Troy after being bitten by an eagle while hang gliding. She becomes romantically involved with "Hearts & Scalpels" executive producer Freddy Prune (Oliver Platt). And then there's Christian, who has his own issues. He gets sexually reacquainted with Julia and Gina Russo (Jessalyn Gilsig), his adopted son Wilber's sex-addicted mother. Then he faces a health crisis. ~ Paul Droesch, All Movie Guide

The sixth of the prime time "novelas" offered by the fledgling MyNetwork service, American Heiress was based on the Spanish-language TVAzteca soap opera (La Heredera--and could just as easily have been retitled "The Perils of Elizabeth." Alice Leigh Willis starred as toothsome young heiress Elizabeth Wakefield, whose adventures began when her family's private jet crashed in a Guatemalan rain forest. Surviving the wreck, the pampered Elizabeth was forced to battle the elements with her fellow survivor, hard-bitten pilot J.D. Bruce (Carter MacIntyre). Ultimately returning to civilization, Elizabeth found that her troubles were far from over: Her imperious father Lionel (John Aprea) was dead set against her romance with the charismatic J.D., while her scheming older brother Damian (Race Owen)--who may very well have engineered the plane crash--was tireless in his efforts to claim the entire family fortune for himself, leaving his siblings out in the cold. The other characters were similarly drawn with broad, unsubtle strokes, especially the resident "easy" girl Loren (AnnaLynne McCord). Debuting March 13, 2007 and initially planned as a 65-episode series to be run on a nightly basis, American Heiress was quickly pared down to 22 weekly installments thanks to MyNetwork's ever-plummeting ratings (the network would soon abandon original "fictional" programming entirely in favor of a docket of new reality series and old movies). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Nicholas D'Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen headline this teen comedy concerning two high-school football players who attempt to avoid another summer at football camp by becoming cheerleaders.
