In an episode clearly inspired by Peyton Place, a former student of Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) scandalizes the town of Cabot Cove when she publishes a thinly-disguised "roman a clef" titled "The Sins of Castle Cove." The locals aren't too happy that their personalities and peccadilloes have been woven into the plotline of the book--and at least one person is willing to commit murder to suppress the novel's publication. Can it be that Jessica will find a clue to the killer within the pages of the book in question? Julie Adams, Gloria DeHaven, Kathryn Grayson and Ruth Roman return as Cabot Cove's four most garrulous gossips. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A captured Murdock (Dwight Schultz) is used as bait by a band of hillbilly bounty hunters to lure the A-Team into a trap set by Col. Decker (Lance LeGault). As his colleagues brainstorm a few rescue plans, Murdock falls in love with another of the hillbillies' captives, veterinarian Dr. Kelly Stevens (played by Dwight Schultz's real life wife Wendy Fulton). Gene Evans, flinty-eyed "hero" of many a Samuel Fuller film, appears as Darrow. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Dick Bakalyan makes his first series appearance as Charlie, the redoubtable ambulance mechanic. Advised to give Charley a wide berth when he shows up to fix an electrical short in Squad 51's emergency vehicle, John (Randolph Mantooth) and Roy (Kevin Tighe) soon discover that the eccentric mechanic is far more trouble than he's worth. The caseload in this episode includes a pair of "nature lovers" who contact a virulent case of anthrax, and a man stranded on an amusement-park tower ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
