The beatings culminate in a single bloody night when Buck Thurman stabs his estranged wife 13 times. She survives--barely--and Buck is arrested. Having failed to get proper protection from the local police force, Tracey successfully sued the officers in 1989. The long-range result was the Thurman Law, which called for mandatory arrests in wife-beating cases in Connecticut and several other states. Nancy McKeon, who plays Tracey Thurman in A Cry for Help, starred in the film in the hope that it would prevent Buck Thurman's early release from prison. A hoax becomes a dangerous reality in this made-for-cable sci-fi thriller. Bill Templer (Dale Midkiff) is an agent with a secret intelligence faction who, in an effort to attract attention away from his latest assignment, pulls a massive con on the American mass media -- he concocts realistic but phony evidence that shows a squadron of aliens from another world are poised to attack the Earth. The scheme not only fools most Americans, but even the President of the United States, who in retaliation schedules the launch of a satellite that can be used to launch nuclear missiles against invading spacecraft. Despite the skill of Templer's forgery, Kevin Anjenatte (Dondre T. Whitfield), a police investigator, discovers evidence that Templer's evidence is phony, and Templer and security chief Ava Zurich (Chyna) set out to silence the detective before his story gets out. The lives of a down-and-out but loving and optimistic Florida couple change dramatically when their desperately impoverished relatives abduct the 11-year-old son of a wealthy businessman and bring the child to their house. When Lucas and Roberta find that Roberta's sister Carrie and her husband Carl have kidnapped little John Wesley Danforth from a little-league game, their first instinct is to call the cops and send the boy back home. But Carl is in dire financial straits and desperately needs the ransom money. He pulls out a loaded gun and forces Lucas and Roberta to become accessories to the crime. Meanwhile, the boy's upstanding father August Danforth hires a private detective. Against the advice of the investigator, he then agrees to pay the $100,000 that Carl demands. When it is time to pick up the loot, Carl remains at home with Roberta and the boy and forces Lucas to accompany Carrie to get the money. While they are gone, Roberta engineers an escape for herself and John Wesley.

As soon as Lucas returns with the money, the three speed off in a truck. Lucas and Roberta want to take John Wesley straight to the police, but he refuses to go. Shortly thereafter, they learn the shocking reason why: it seems that his fine, well-respected father is a child batterer. All John Wesley wants is to be reunited with his estranged mother in Louisiana. When faced with the child's obvious suffering, the good-hearted couple feel they have no choice but to obey his wishes. This puts all three of them plus the mother in grave danger for not only has the vengeful August called in the FBI, but the dangerously enraged Carl and Roberta are rapidly closing in on them. The fabulously wealthy Susan Blakely is saddled with husband John Saxon, a swarthy number with possible mob connections. Bored and lonely, Blakely falls for charming Dale Midkiff. Soon after beginning her affair, however, Midkiff turns out to be a blackmailer, in league with the even scuzzier Mac Davis. Since this is a USA Cable Network movie, be assured that extortion is the least of the crimes perpetrated during Blackmail's two hours. The CSI team investigates when a young coed, about to move back home, disappears without a trace from her campus dorm room. Even more curious, all of the girl's belongings were left behind. This and other baffling clues lead the crew to conclude that the case's solution may lie in the Chaos Theory, wherein seemingly harmless and unimportant events culminate in disaster. Inspired by guess what television series, this made-for-TV movie traces the follies and fortunes of the Ewings and the Barneses all the way back to the 1930s. The familiar Dallas characters are played by unfamiliar (albeit very able) younger players: Miss Ellie, for example, isn't Barbara Bel Geddes (nor even Donna Reed) but the unknown Molly Hagan, while Jock Ewing is the slightly more recognizable Dale Midkiff. Larry Hagman, aka J.R. Ewing, appears long enough to introduce the film. As for J.R. himself, he shows up as an ominously nasty teenager, played by Kevin Wixted. Inspired by Evan Hunter's popular "87th Precinct" novels (written under Hunter's nom de plume , Ed McBain), this made-for-TV thriller features most of Hunter's familiar recurring characters, among them detectives Meyer Meyer (Paul Ben-Victor) and Steve Carella (Dale Midkiff), as well as Carella's deaf-mute wife, Teddy (Andrea Ferrell). It was axiomatic back in the 1980s that, if you put the name "Elvis" in the title of your made-for-TV movie, your ratings would go through the roof. Such was the case of the two-part Elvis and Me, which not only cleaned up in the ratings, but also earned a TV Guide cover (the week , before it aired!) Based on the reminiscences of Elvis' wife Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, the film stars Susan Walters as Priscilla and Dale Midkiff as The King. In Part One, 14-year-old army brat Priscilla meets Elvis while he's doing his military duty in Germany. Their courtship is sporadic at best, but when Priscilla visits Presley in Hollywood in 1962, the story really gets going. A secret project turns out to not have been so secret after all as an air disaster threatens to become an international incident in this action thriller. Peter Stanton is an aviation engineer who is asked by the United States military to design a new super-sized stealth aircraft. Since Stanton's project is officially off the government's books (though the Pentagon is indeed footing the bill), his sponsors create a cover story that the new craft is actually a civilian airline carrier being jointly developed by NASA and three major airlines. In order to give the new jet a proper test and support their cover story, the plane, known as FALCON, will carry a group of special passengers for its first flight, a hop from New York to Paris that will take less than two hours. However, Stanton finds out the hard way that not everyone on his team is honest and idealistic when a team of Serbian terrorists take over the plane, intending to land it on the arctic ice cap. The Serbs miscalculate, and soon Stanton has two major problems on his hand: bringing the FALCON up out of the ocean, and saving the passengers from the terrorists before the Serbs can make use of the jet's sophisticated weapons systems. It is strictly a business arrangement, with no romance or cohabitation involved; Marty will act as housekeeper to Davis and as teacher and surrogate mother for Clark's sullen nine-year-old daughter Missy (Skye McCole Bartusiak), and in return she will receive food and lodging. Pragmatists both, Marty and Clark assume that they will dissolve their marriage of convenience when the spring thaw comes...but that isn't how things turn out.
