Robert Miano Movies
The earliest published credit for American actor Robert Miano was the role of "Modoc leader" in Bridger, a 1976 TV movie. Miano resurfaced in the late 1980s in supporting and bit roles in films -- most of these low-budget productions which generally went directly to video. 1987's Weeds, a good prison-rehab film starring Nick Nolte, was an exception to Miano's B-credits. Otherwise, Robert Miano could be seen in such fair to middling productions as Troma's Club Life (1986), China Girl (1987), Easy Wheels (1989), Ministry of Vengeance (1989) (as Ali Aboud), The Rain Killer (1990) and Diplomatic Immunity (1991). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Based on the exploits of real-life 1830s frontiersman James Bridger, this TV movie was supposed to have graduated to a weekly series, but the fates were against it. James Wainwright plays the title role with Gary Cooper-like stoicism. John Anderson guest stars as President Andrew Jackson, who orders Bridger to blaze a trail from Wyoming to California. The film is extremely disorganized, suggesting that it was cobbled together from several shorter Bridger episodes. Moreover, the film was rather choppily pared down from 100 minutes to 78. When Bridger rescues Sally Field from bandits, we don't even know who her character is or why the hero is so interested in her plight. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Alexander Main (Jack Lemmon) is a tired, middle-aged bail bondsman who hears from his former girlfriend Maritza (Genevieve Bujold) for the first time in quite a while. The news isn't good: Maritza is accused of the attempted murder of her abusive lover, and she hopes that Alex can get her out of jail. Alex arranges to have Maritza released into his custody, but while their romance begins to blossom once again, their relationship is still doomed to failure.
