Drawing inspiration from the late Graham Chapman's intentionally fictitious memoir A Liar's Autobiography (Volume VI, filmmakers Jeffrey Simpson, Ben Timlett, and Bill Jones employ 15 teams of animators to tell the outlandish and surreal life story of the Monty Python's Flying Circus member who died of cancer in 1989. With newly discovered audio recordings allowing the celebrated comedian to tell his life story in his own words, A Liar's Autobiography - The Untrue Story of Monty Python's Graham Chapman offers a humorous, and largely untrue, look at a venerable icon of comedy. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

An unofficial companion piece to music historian-turned-filmmaker Alan G. Parker's controversial 2008 tome Sid Vicious: No One Is Innocent, this speculative documentary explores the factual basis for the rumors that Sid Vicious, of the notorious punk band the Sex Pistols, did not kill lover Nancy Spungen in the manner of which he was formally accused. Because the facts surrounding that evening remain permanently murky (Vicious was so out of it that he had no memory what had transpired), Parker resists proposing one theory of how Spungen died and who killed her, and instead presents a host of theories from numerous interviewees directly or tangentially affiliated with the Pistols. Participants include Steve "Roadent" Connolly, Alan Jones, Howie Pyro, Don Letts, and many others. The film also works in crime scene evidence, eyewitness testimonies, and basic biographical material on Vicious that juxtaposes the rocker's meteoric rise and fall alongside the theories on Spungen's demise. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Iron Maiden front-man Bruce Dickinson collaborates with veteran second-unit Monty Python director Julian Doyle to craft this horror-flavored supernatural thriller concerning the reincarnation of the occultist once dubbed "the most evil man in Britain." Over sixty years after Aleister Crowley's death, the mere mention of his name is still enough to strike terror in the hearts of God-fearing Christians. When a virtual reality experiment gone awry sends Crowley's restless soul into the body of a soft-spoken university professor (Simon Callow), the newly empowered hedonist draws on his powerful "black magick" in order to unleash an occult event the likes of which this world has never witnessed. John Shrapnel and Richard Franklin co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The West Wittering Affair marks the debut feature of the fraternal writing-directing team of Danny Scheinmann and David Scheinmann. Topically, this British comedy of sexual mores plunges headfirst into the romantic and erotic intrigues among girlfriends Natasha (Rebecca Cardinale) and Kathy (Sarah Sutcliffe), and two of their lovers: the psychoanalyst Greg (David Annen) and ladykiller Jamie (Danny Scheinmann). As the story opens, Kathy places an entry in her video diary, lamenting the degree to which things have changed "in the three years after West Wittering." The film then flashes back to the events in question, when Kathy temporarily housesat at a friend's farm in Wittering, and invited prospective beau Jamie, Natasha, and Natasha's significant other, Greg, to spend the weekend with her. When Greg didn't show up (still reeling from a fight with Natasha), Jamie spent one long, intoxicated evening with Natasha and Kathy, and wheedled his way into the beds of both women; the next morning, when the girls discovered Jamie's infidelities, they tied him, naked, to a table in the house and left him there. All appeared to be said and done, with a colorful past buried - until a series of events reunited the four lovers, including an unexpected therapy session between Jamie and Greg, pregnancies, recouplings, rekindled arguments, and another wild visit to the same farmhouse. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
