This outrageous Swedish language comedy concerns Gosta and Gun, two retirees who embark on a long cross-country trip to their son's wedding in a new motor home. Gun practically insists on flying, but his wife refuses, insisting that an RV will be more relaxing; little can they foresee screaming grandchildren, a carnivorous rat, and a nosy giraffe with regurgitation issues. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Prolific Danish screenwriter Kim Fupz Aakeson teams with veteran director Ake Sandgren to explore a most unconventional love triangle. Grieving fisherman Alf (Rolf Lassgård) is mourning the loss of his younger girlfriend Lena (Sofia Ledarp). Though the pair had spent but a few months together, their time together was precious to Alf and the circumstances of her death simply cannot be forgotten. Back in the day, Lena was involved in a relationship with violently abusive Hannes (Jonas Karlsson), who beat the girl on a regular basis before she finally gained the courage to have him locked up. Later, when Hannes is released from prison, he is compelled to send Lena an apologetic letter in which he begs for forgiveness. Subsequently unable to resist Hannes' toxic charm, Lena soon begins a clandestine affair with her abusive ex-boyfriend behind the unsuspecting back of cuckolded Alf. As troubling old patterns gradually begin to resurface, the stage is set for a tragedy that soon threatens to destroy the lives of all involved. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Felix Herngren, Anja Lundquist, Sofia Ledarp, Anna Bjork Pal Strobaek, Adam Nordlund, Cecilia Frode, Mans Herngren and Dennis Fredriksson co-star in Every Other Week (AKA Varannan Vecka, 2005), a Swedish domestic comedy about broken and fractured nuptials. Herngren and Bjork headline the cast as Jens and Tessan, initially a happily married couple with two children. These two soon find the sanctity of their marriage tested - first by the revelation that Jens has a platonic female friend named Johanna (Cecilia Frode), then by the disclosure of Tessan's extramarital affair from years prior. Infuriated over his wife's unfaithfulness, Jens packs his suitcases and moves into the home of his brother, television director Pontus (Felix Herngren), himself a veteran of divorce with a young daughter. Oddly, Pontus and his ex-wife, Maria (Lundquist), desire a second child, even though they can barely stand each other. But they disagree on the method: Pontus wants to do it the old-fashioned way, while Maria desires artificial insemination. At least four different directors worked on Varannan Vecka: star Felix Herngren, Hannes Holm, Måns Herngren and Hans Ingemansson. Several are veterans of television commercials - hence the sly parodies of television ads scattered throughout the film. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
