Antonio Aguilar Movies

Antonio Aguilar was a major Mexican musical personality and action star of the 1950s and 1960s. His prowess at both singing and fisticuffs also enabled him to be compared favorably with several of Hollywood's top Western personalities. In films from 1952, Aguilar occasionally made appearances in American films with Mexican backgrounds. One of his most memorable English-language film roles was the antagonistic General Rojos in the sprawling, brawling John Wayne/Rock Hudson vehicle The Undefeated (1969). Aguilar died of pneumonia after a battle with heart disease at age 88. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Some films about political revolutions dwell upon the causes and buildup. Others concentrate on the revolution itself. Benjamin Argumedo concerns itself with the mixed results of the aftermath. The film focuses on the effect that a political upheaval has on the title character-and things aren't all roses. Antonio Aguilar stars in this Spanish production. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This routine western finds Union Colonel John Henry Thomas (John Wayne) and company attacking Confederate soldiers lead by Colonel James Langdon (Rock Hudson). After a crushing defeat, Langdon torches his plantation rather than have it fall into enemy hands. A group of Southerners accept the invitation of Emperor Maximilian to join them, and Langdon heads off with a wagon train of settlers to a new land. Thomas with his adopted Indian son Blue Boy (Roman Gabriel) bring a herd of 3,000 horses across the Rio Grand for sale.
