As glasses are raised for a New Year's Eve toast, the denizens of the city of Terminus fall prey to a mysterious transmission that pulses through all electronic devices and transforms rational, sane people into murderous, rampaging psychopaths. All forms of communication have been jammed, and now the airwaves have been saturated with an ominous signal that preys on fear and deep-rooted desire. Though Terminus was once a city defined by conformity, any semblance of order in this concrete jungle has now been replaced with screaming, bloody chaos. Fortunately, Ben has managed to avoid having his brain scrambled by the signal, and now he's determined to make his way through the bedlam that's sweeping the streets and rescue the woman he loves. It's not going to be an easy task, though, and in order to sweep his love to safety, Ben will first have to face off against her rabid husband. In a city where everyone seems to have lost their mind, the only way Ben will be able to determine who he can trust and who has given in to their bloodlust is to find out the true origins of this ominous broadcast. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

It's Christmas Eve in 1943; in a small Georgia town two young children await their father's return at the local train station as the adults around them whisper about the unspeakable atrocities committed by Axis forces. Eleven year-old Gordy (Aiden Rogers) and his sister Priscilla (Emily Jordan) can't quite make sense of the propaganda posters and hushed conversations, yet a profound sense of sadness and fear swells somewhere deep within both children. Later, when a train transporting German POWs pulls in to the station, Gordy manages to overcome his fear and tenuously approaches the prison car. There, he connects with a young German soldier named Hans (Silvio Busch). Gordy and Hans each face uncertain futures, but together on this crisp December evening they will both come to a common understanding about Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men though the traditional Christmas song "Silent Night". ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This Florida-lensed slasher silliness (not surprisingly produced by exploitation overlord Fred Olen Ray) is enlivened only slightly by posthumous cameos from John Carradine and Cameron Mitchell, as well as appearances from B-movie "Scream Queens" Linnea Quigley and Brinke Stevens. The plot is basically a riff on the standard Freddy Krueger-esque supernatural-maniac formula, only here the unstoppable psycho is merely a lumbering ghoul with a big pumpkin for a head, awakened from a cursed sleep on Halloween night by the usual handful of obnoxious teenage morons. Amid confusing flashback sequences and some phony occult blathering (courtesy of the town witch), we're told that Jack-O is the incarnation of a murdered farmer who has returned to avenge himself by taking a scythe to his killers' ancestors, but this particular pumpkinhead's people-reaping spree seems to cover a much broader swath, including a crop of nubile young things -- preferably just out of the shower, or fresh from a randy romp in the local cemetery. Even allowing for a certain camp appeal, there's not an original concept to be found amid the abundant nudity and severed limbs. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide
