Among the Metro Division officers providing protection for a drug-dealing murder witness (Anthony Ponzini) is Chris Novak (Lauren Lane). At the same time, the Feds have taken a special interest in this witness, especially veteran FBI agent Tom Reed (Mitchell Ryan). As it happens, Reed is Novak's long-estranged father--and as a result, the outcome of the current situation is largely dictated by the long-simmering hostilities between father and daughter. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Saturday Night Live star Dana Carvey had his first leading role on the big screen in this comedy. Eddie (Carvey) and Lou (Todd Graff) are a pair of small-time con artists deep in debt to Pinkie (Mike Bacarella), a loan shark. During a lean period, Eddie and Lou resort to breaking and entering to make some money, but as they're clearing out a house, they overhear the answering machine announce that the owner is away on business for a few weeks -- and the housesitter won't be able to stop by. Eddie and Lou settle in and enjoy their good fortune, which just gets better when Milt (Robert Loggia) pays a visit. Milt assumes that Eddie is the housesitter, who is a close friend of his son. Eddie is soon introduced to Milt's beautiful daughter, Annie (Julia Campbell), and Milt decides that Eddie is executive material at his successful manufacturing firm. Soon Eddie starts to wonder if he should go on lying to the people he's come to like -- and there's the little matter of the 60,000 dollars that Eddie and Lou swiped from Pinkie's car. Opportunity Knocks also features Milo O'Shea and James Tolkan. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

After the death of Bruce Lee in 1973, writer/director Robert Clouse made several attempts to reproduce the success of his Enter the Dragon, which belatedly made Lee a household name in America. Clouse felt (with good reason) that Jackie Chan could be the next big martial arts star in America, and he crafted this feature with him in mind. Jerry Kwan (Chan) is a Korean immigrant trying to make good in Chicago in the 1930s. Work isn't easy to find for an Asian immigrant. Jerry is forced by Domenici (Jose Ferrer), a well-connected mobster, to represent him in a no-holds-barred, winner-take-all battle in Texas. But can Jerry handle the pressure? The Big Brawl was Jackie Chan's first starring role in an American film, but Chan wouldn't break through in the United States until the 1996 U.S. release of Rumble in the Bronx. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Thoroughly worn out from round-the-clock surgery, Charles (David Ogden Stiers) begins to rely heavily on amphetamines. The little pills have a predictably strange effect on Charles' personality, which is none too tolerable to begin with. Even stranger are the drugs' effects on Radar's (Gary Burghoff) pet "racing" mouse Daisy. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The challenge now is to stop the smirking pedophile before he attacks again. The fourth season of Kojak begins as Lt. Theo Kojak (Telly Savalas) of the NYPD is faced with a truly daunting personal crisis. Just before her birthday celebration Kojak's niece Lina (Donna Mitchell) is kidnapped by the friends of a man who has been jailed for killing a cop. Their demands are as simple as they are sinister: Release the cop-killer, or Lina dies. Featured in the supporting cast is a very young, pre-stardom Richard Gere, as well as Julie Garfield, the daughter of iconic Hollywood tough guy John Garfield. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This unpleasant early entry in the slasher film genre involves a psychotic garage mechanic whose history of childhood abuse at the hands of his mother leads to murderous rage against women. When the mechanic ends up falling for one of his potential victims (Tanya Roberts), the terrified but resourceful woman manages to manipulate his amorous feelings for her in order to get the upper hand. This seedy and cheap-looking film was originally released in 1977 (as Last Victim), then re-packaged in 1984 to capitalize on the burgeoning popularity of Roberts, as well as a young Nancy Allen (who appears only briefly as a doomed hitchhiker). ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi
