Jillian Michaels Movies
Fitness guru Jillian Michaels attained national recognition in 2004, when she joined forces with series host Caroline Rhea on the NBC reality program The Biggest Loser. The show featured a number of candidates participating in a contest to determine who could lose the most weight; Michaels acted as resident "strength trainer and life coach." The author of the best-selling tomes Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change Your Life and Making the Cut, Michaels celebrates a healthy, easy, and pragmatic approach to weight loss, and provides on-camera illustrations of how to use exercise to that end in a series of popular workout videos. These include Jillian Michaels: Cardio Kickbox (2005), Jillian Michaels: Maximize -- Full Frontal (2005), and Jillian Michaels: Maximize -- Back in Action (2005). ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

As created by J.D. Roth, the popular NBC reality series The Biggest Loser pits severely overweight contestants against one another to determine who can lose the most weight in a set period of time - with the inherent reward of a $250,000 prize. The Biggest Loser workout videos feature exercise routines employed on the series, and devoted to the same fitness goals of fat burning and weight loss via increased strength and endurance. The Biggest Loser Workout: Power Sculpt incorporates three strength-training regimens with progressive levels of difficulty, respectively hosted by series regulars Jillian Michaels, Kim Lyons and Bob Harper. Following a basic warm-up, Level One finds Michaels leading at-home participants through a basic 20-minute strength training workout which targets every major area of the body; Level Two finds Lyons leading participants through a 10 minute workout that elevates upper and lower-body strength while vigorously working on one's core muscles; and Level Three features Harper leading participants in a weight-training routine with the added bonus of 'bootcamp' movements uniquely designed by the trainer. The program wraps with a cool-down. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

It then moves into a Level Two 'Supercardio Drill Workout,' approximately ten minutes in length and hosted by Michaels, then moves into a Level Three kickboxing workout, led by Lyons, that vigorously works one's hips and thighs - before wrapping with a cool-down. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
