An unexpected "launch window" has provided the Robinsons with a golden opportunity to get off the planet. Unfortunately, time is of the essence--and right now time is running out thanks to a computer, residing in a tomblike cave, that has taken over Dr. Smith's (Jonathan Harris) mind and body, transforming him into an alien from a long-dead civilization. Will the Robinsons be forced to leave Smith behind in order to save themselves? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Here's the obligatory Irwin Allen "mad toymaker" episode, which begins when the Celestial Department Store ordering Machine malfunctions (again!) and Dr. Smith (Jonathan Harris) is turned into a toy clown. Disaster will befall everyone else unless John (Jonathan Harris) and the Robot can rescue Smith, who along with Will (Billy Mumy) is trapped in a fourth-dimension toyshop run by an elderly artisan (Walter Burke) who doesn't recognize his guests as human. Fritz Feld returns as the imperious Celestial Department Store head man Zumdish ("Pop!"). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Jay Novello, who made a number of memorable appearances on I Love Lucy, shows up in this Lucy Show outing as Sam Boscovitch, the inventor of a giant robot called "Major Fun Fun." The robot is designed as a mechanical babysitter for banker Mooney's (Gale Gordon) nephew, a spoiled-rotten brat named Wendell (played by former "Dennis the Menace" Jay North), whom no live sitter can stand. In hopes of obtaining funding for her friend, and to pick up a bit of extra money herself, Lucy dons a "tin soldier" outfit and impersonates the metallic Major Fun Fun, enduring all manner of indignities at the hands of Wendell -- at least until she turns the tables on the unruly youngster. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Peeking into the package, the girls discover that the present consists of a huge ceramic cat--which, in a twinkling, falls to the floor and breaks into a million pieces. It turns out that there is only one duplicate cat left in town...and nothing will stop Lucy from getting her hands on it, even if it requires a bit of creative larceny! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
