Prolific B-movie auteur Fred Olen Ray's sequel to Inner Sanctum is little more than softcore porn masquerading as an arty erotic thriller. Full of hallucination scenes, erotic nightmares, and other gimmicky devices (sometimes nested three deep), the film tells the story of nurse Jennifer Reed (Tracy Brooks Swope), who -- when she was still played by Tanya Roberts in the first movie -- killed her murderous husband after he attempted to do the same to her. Jennifer's brother-in-law Bill (Michael Nouri from Flashdance) and his wife (Sandahl Bergman) come to stay with her. When a series of hook-murders begins, the traumatized woman and her guests must determine who is drugging her and setting up the killings. None of it really matters, however, as the mystery is secondary to all of the sex and violence. There are numerous softcore couplings, as well as some pretty silly hallucinations (sex with a decaying corpse, Jennifer's graveyard dance with an undead Kato Kaelin), and even a catfight to keep the punters happy. Ray casts the film with the usual semi-names (Robert Quarry, Margaux Hemingway, David Warner, Joe Estevez) but can't muster enough MTV-style gloss on his budget to make it really work as an erotic thriller, nor enough true silliness to make it work as camp. It just sits there, as disposable as a paper plate and about as stimulating. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

A co-ed has a devil of a time getting even with the members of an upper-crust sorority in this horror-comedy. Becky (Veronica Carothers) is a pretty but woefully naïve college student who is determined to join the most exclusive sorority on campus. However, her would-be sisters seem to be more interested in putting her through one embarrassing hazing ritual after another than making friends with her. One night, Becky muses out loud that she'd be willing to sell her soul to be rich, pretty, and powerful like her sorority sisters. Who should conveniently appear but the Devil himself (Robert Vaughn), who informs Becky that he can make her dream a reality. Becky takes him up on the offer, and she's transformed into Leslie, a dazzling sex bomb who can shape-shift into a monster and wreck revenge against her enemies whenever the fancy strikes her. Witch Academy also stars Priscilla Barnes, Michelle Bauer, and Jay Richardson. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Veteran schlock merchant Fred Olen Ray serves up this silly horror comedy with a hearty helping of gratuitous softcore skin, cheap monster effects, and walk-ons from assorted B-movie names, including David Carradine, Dick Miller, and Arte Johnson. The thin plot involves a group of curvaceous coeds whose restoration of an old mansion awakens a leering, lecherous demon who is just itching to do all manners of unspeakable things to them. Only a few minutes of screen time are devoted to the drooling cartoon monster (designed by horror critic Chas Balun), which looks like one of Robert Williams' Rat Fink creations. Miller's brief appearance is amusing, but Carradine is just hitting his marks; stars Monique Gabrielle and Madison Stone were already well on their way to lucrative careers in soft- and hardcore skin flicks. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi
