Dougray Scott essays the role of author Robert Louis Stevenson's maniacal medico in director Paolo Barzman's retelling of the classic gothic tale. A highly regarded physician who dedicates all of this spare time to unlocking the secrets of a rare Amazonian flower, Dr. Henry Jekyll (Scott) is about to discover a side of himself that he never knew existed. The sacred flower is said to possess a mystical power that can literally separate the soul, summoning man's Dark Self and unleashing a side of the personality that lies dormant until awoken by its mysterious psychotropic properties. As Dr. Jekyll attempts to isolate those properties and unlock the flower's mysteries, a series of gruesome murders begin making headlines all across the city. Dr. Jekyll knows that this is no coincidence, because every morning when he wakes up clutching a grim memento from the night before, the screams of his terrified victims still echoing through his head. Realizing that it's only a matter of time before the personality he calls "Mr. Edward Hyde" takes over completely, Dr. Jekyll enlists the aid of compassionate attorney Claire Wheaton (Krista Bridges) in ensuring that he be placed in an asylum - where Mr. Hyde can do no further harm. In the courtroom, Mrs. Wheaton gives such a convincing case for mental imbalance that the judge readily agrees to have Dr. Jekyll institutionalized. But while this may be the end of Dr. Jekyll it's only the beginning for Mr. Hyde, because the harder Claire tries to help the conflicted physician the more dangerous his murderous alter ego becomes. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A renowned physician researching the powers of a rare Amazonian flower said to separate the self from the soul finds his experiment with the psychotropic plant coinciding with a series of sadistic murders in this updating of the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson. Upon learning of a rare flower rumored to give life to man's "Dark Self" Dr. Henry Jekyll begins conducting the research that could provide a monumental breakthrough in contemporary psychology. But each time Dr. Jekyll ingests the plant another person turns up dead, leading him to believe that his "Dark Self" is slowly coming into its own. Realizing that the only way out of his predicament is to throw himself at the mercy of the court and finally be put out of his misery, the tormented physician hires a compassionate attorney known for taking on lost causes. Her case for mental imbalance is convincing enough to get Dr. Jekyll locked away for life in an asylum, but while the good doctor may be safely locked away his murderous alter-ego somehow roams free. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A trio of married women who are all cheating on their husbands find themselves stalked by a vicious serial killer in this made-for-cable drama. Dr. Bobbie Adler (Wendy Anderson), an unorthodox psychiatrist and radio host, advises her patients to seek out no-strings hook-ups if their husbands aren't meeting their sexual needs. But when Bobbie and her own paramour are found stabbed to death, it soon becomes clear that somebody's unhappy with the shrink's advice ... and those who follow it. That leaves Adler's patients -- neglected housewife Linda (Charisma Carpenter), bossy lawyer Meredith (Krista Bridges) and uptight realtor Cindy (Katya Gardner) -- to worry that Detective Rollins (Kate Trotter), the cop assigned to the case, will expose their adulterous ways. But with a revenge-crazed killer at large, cuckolded husbands are the least of their worries. Cheater's Club premiered June 26, 2006 on the Lifetime cable network. ~ Brian J. George A. Romero, who revolutionized the American horror film in 1968 with the instant classic Night of the Living Dead, returns to his dystopian zombie cycle with this horror thriller. In Land of the Dead, the zombies whose numbers had been slowly but steadily growing through Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead now dominate the streets of most American cities, while urban skyscrapers have been taken over by surviving humans, usually greed-addled opportunists who allow the living to stay in their fortified compounds for a price. Guarding the buildings are rough-and-tumble mercenaries who have learned to do battle with the zombies, making use of powerful weapons to gain advantage. But as the zombie civilization grows, the creatures have begun to slowly evolve, with their dormant thought processes beginning to awaken, and as unrest begins to ferment among the mercenaries and the entrepreneurs who pay them, the ghouls may have found a way to defeat the last stronghold of humanity. Land of the Dead stars Dennis Hopper as arch capitalist Kaufman, and Simon Baker, John Leguizamo, Robert Joy, and Asia Argento as some of the mercenaries; Asia Argento's father, Dario Argento, served as a producer on one of the earlier films in the series, Dawn of the Dead. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

(Kristen Holden- Reid), a drug-addled couple struggling to regain custody of their child; Henry (Peter Keleghan) and Lily (Wendy Crewson), whose marriage is already starting to crumble before temptation presents itself to Lily; and Boris (Damir Andrei), the Niagara's short-tempered owner.
