Six friends take a road trip straight to hell when they travel to the Louisiana bayou to investigate a disturbing local legend. Venture into the backwoods of Louisiana, and odds are it won't be long until you hear the story of Lockjaw. A half-human/half-alligator abomination, Lockjaw was born of hate after inbred local Grimley saw his pregnant bride and sister devoured by an alligator, and slew the beast in a fit of rage. Upon consuming the ancient predator, Grimley was transformed into a hideous creature known as Lockjaw that's said to roam the swamps in search of human prey. When a group of curious thrill seekers go searching the marshlands for evidence of Lockjaw, they quickly learn that no one who sees him ever lives to tell the tale. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

When a model soldier who recently returned to the U.S. from the front lines of Iraq goes AWOL, his veteran father enlists the aid of a dedicated police detective in seeking out his son's true fate in director/screenwriter Paul Haggis' follow up to the Oscar-winning 2004 indie-hit Crash. Mike Deerfield (Jonathan Tucker) has served his country faithfully, and now the time has come for him to return home to the United States. Shortly after returning, however, Mike simply vanishes without a trace. Mike's father, Hank (Tommy Lee Jones), is a former MP from the Vietnam era, and quickly recruits Detective Emily Sanders (Charlize Theron) to assist him in his search for the missing soldier. While it remains to be seen whether Hank will ever find his missing son, he gets quickly enmeshed in a tangled web of intrigue, cover-ups, and murder, all related to the Iraqi conflict. The drama thus highlights the profoundly personal toll combat takes on soldiers, while striking at the very heart of the American experience in Iraq. Inspired by a Playboy Magazine article written by Mark Boal, Haggis's fictionalized version of the actual events co-stars Jason Patrick, Susan Sarandon, James Franco, and Josh Brolin. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A true-life story of a basketball team who broke down barriers while racking up victories is the basis for this sports drama. Don Haskins (Josh Lucas) was a high school and college basketball star who, after six years of working with high school teams, became the head coach at Texas Western University in 1962. At that time, Texas Western's basketball program was not well respected, but Haskins was determined to change that, and in 1966 Haskins assembled what he was certain was a winning team. However, Haskins' starting lineup was comprised entirely of African-American athletes at a time when racially integrated teams were still a novelty in the South and West. Despite generating a firestorm of controversy, Haskins and his players showed they could succeed where it counted -- on the court. In post-season play Haskins and the Texas Western team found themselves competing for the NCAA championship against the University of Kentucky's all-white team, lead by legendary coach Adolph Rupp (Jon Voight). Glory Road also stars Derek Luke, Alphonso McAuley, Mehcad Brooks, Al Shearer, Damaine Radcliff, Sam Jones III, and Schin S. Kerr as members of Haskins' winning team. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) hubby, Tom (Doug Savant), intends to extract full retribution for her getting him fired. Bree (Marcia Cross) still hasn't figured out why Rex's (Steven Culp) health has taken a turn for the worse (the "reason" does not appear in this episode). And in anticipation of things to come, new neighbor Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard) already shows signs of having dark secrets of her own when she shuns a friendly welcoming visit from Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan). This ironically titled cliffhanger was the final episode of Desperate Housewives' first season. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

There's intrigue aplenty as Desperate Housewives approaches the end of its first season. Still unaware that George (Roger Bart) is more than a passive observer vis-à-vis her husband's illness, Bree (Marcia Cross) falls for George's lie that Rex (Steven Culp) has been bragging about their kinky bedroom escapades; the confrontation that results between her and Rex leads to a drastic downturn in his health. Edie goes into "hell hath no fury" mode when Susan (Teri Hatcher) and Mike (James Denton) move in together. Lynette (Felicity Huffman) unintentionally causes Tom (Doug Savant) to lose his job in her efforts to foil her would-be romantic rival Annabel (Melinda McGraw). And when Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) learns how her birth-control prescription has been tampered with, she angrily tells Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) that he may not be the father, and he reacts in a manner that gets seven more years tacked on to his jail sentence. Alfre Woodard and Mehcad Brooks make their first series appearances as Betty and Josh Applewhite. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Based on actual events which occurred aboard the "USS Constitution", this made-for-cable movie begins as young Maddie Nolan (Hayden Panettiere) boards the Naval carrier under the command of her father Gary (Bill Pullman). Maddie is participating in a traditional "tiger cruise", wherein the family members of Naval personnel are invited to join the men and women in uniform during a typical days of maneuvers. Unlike her fellow passengers, however, Maddie has an ulterior motive: Weary of being a "Navy brat" who has spent her childhood moving from one base to another, she is hoping to persuade her father to give up the service and settle down in one place. But on the third day at sea, Commander Dolan's carrier is ordered to assume "combat mode": the date is September 11, 2001, and America is under attack! Tiger Cruise debuted August 6, 2004, on the Disney Channel. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
