A scary legend becomes a far more terrifying reality in this independent horror picture. Samantha (Fay Masterson), known to her friends as Sam, grew up in a small lakefront community, and though she moved away to the big city years ago, she still feels strong emotional ties to the town. On the anniversary of her father's death, Sam feels the need for some solace away from the city, and invites a group of her friends to join her for a long weekend at the family's lake house. Spending time in the woods proves to be a great tonic for Sam, and her best friend, Kate (Sandrine Holt), strikes up a romance with Jesse (William Gregory Lee), one of Sam's old friends who still lives nearby. One night around the campfire, Sam shares a spooky story with her friends -- a local tall tale about a deranged young man who murdered his family and has been haunting the woods ever since. While most of the group takes the story in the spirit of fun, one of them, Franklin (Stephen Bishop), makes a startling discovery -- there's an old diary in the house that appears to be the journal of the mysterious killer, which suggests the madman is still at large and not far away. Filmmaker Paul Mazursky was having his annual eye checkup when his ophthalmologist told him about an annual religious celebration in the Ukrainian village of Uman, where twenty-five thousand Hassidic Jews from around the world come to observe Rosh Hashanah in the town that is the final resting place of the celebrated teacher and spiritual leader Rabbi Nachman (1772-1810). While raised in a Jewish household, Mazursky by his own word has little interest in religion; however, the more he heard about the yearly gathering, in which spiritual fellowship is accompanied by ecstatic singing, dancing and chanting, the more fascinated he became, and he decided to not only travel to Uman to witness the celebration, he brought along a small camera crew to capture it on film. Yippee: A Journey to Jewish Joy is a documentary -- Mazursky's first -- in which he offers a glimpse of the religious festival and the men who take part in it, as well as sharing stories of Rabbi Nachman's life and teachings, interviewing the non-Jewish residents of Uman as they observe the proceedings, and sharing his own thoughts as a "cultural" Jew. Stripped of their wealth and forced to fend for themselves when the multi-million-dollar cosmetics company inherited from their father suffers due to controversy, two sisters who have never known the simple life must finally find out how the other half lives in a high-fashion comedy about hard times starring Hilary and Haylie Duff. Ava (Haylie) and Tanza (Hilary) are teen heiresses whose charmed lives consist of little more than showing up at all the hottest celebrity parties and putting in the occasional cameo at their company's board meetings while letting the responsible adults in charge handle all of the complicated details. All of that changes, however, when an unforeseen scandal robs the privileged "celebutantes" of their car, their cash, and even their lavish home; but what's a poor little rich girl to do when everything she's ever known is suddenly made null and void?
