After staking a vampire in the Sunnydale cemetery, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Angel (David Boreanaz) discover that someone has dug up a grave and taken its inhabitant. An icked-out Buffy soon discovers that the corpse was a cheerleader from another school who was killed in a car crash along with two other cheermates. Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) and Xander (Nicholas Brendon) dig up one of the other girls' graves to do a little research, and as they suspect, the body is missing. Angel and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) then happen upon the dismembered bodies of all three of the missing pom-pom corpses. Apparently, Chris Epps (Angelo Spizzirri) -- the Science Club's default Dr. Frankenstein -- is attempting to fashion a Cheer-stein of sorts for Daryl (Ingo Neuhaus), his football jock brother. Very sweet, except that his brother is also a monster brought back to life! The gruesome twosome just need one freshly hacked off head to complete Daryl's new patchwork girlfriend -- and who better than Cordelia? Xander assists in saving Cordelia, thereby sowing the seeds for a future romantic entanglement, but misses his chance in this episode by ignoring her gratitude. Giles is also caught trying to compose a pick-up line for Jenny (Robia La Morte). Finally, as a continuing complication from Buffy's dance with Xander in the season opener, Angel admits to being jealous. ~ All Movie Guide
Produced by the same team that bankrolled the hit The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, this violent domestic thriller is often compared to that mega-hit. Screenwriter Wesley Strick made his directorial debut with this script by Michael Auerbach. Vincent Spano and Moira Kelly are Russell and Dana Clifton, a successful but childless yuppie couple who adopt a mesmerizing young girl named Janie (Julia Devin). Janie has suicidal tendencies, however -- she walks out into crowded streets, keeps a butcher knife under her bed, and sometimes cuts herself. She also has psychotic white-trash parents, John and Leann Netherwood (Keith Carradine and Daryl Hannah). The Netherwoods are crooks forced to give up their daughter, but once released from jail, they are intent on getting her back. They kill an adoption agency worker and a police officer as part of their vendetta, terrorizing the suburban town as they target the Cliftons in their all-out war for the return of Janie. ~ Michael Betzold, All Movie Guide

Diane Keaton stars as the famous American female pilot, who challenged social stereotypes and took to the air in the 1930s. In an attempt to fly around the world, Earhart's plane went missing in 1937 and was never recovered. A big city doctor is stranded in a small rural town, where he finds love, professional challenges, and a pet pig, in this comedy. Fresh out of residence at a Washington D.C. hospital, hot-shot plastic surgeon Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) hops in his Porsche and is headed for California, where a lucrative practice in Beverly Hills awaits. However, Ben accidentally plows into a fence in Grady, South Carolina; the wreck puts Ben's car out of commission, and the town's mayor, Nick Nicholson (David Ogden Stiers), sees to it that Ben is sentenced to perform community service while he's waiting to get his car back on the road. For a week, Ben will serve as the community's general practitioner, filling in for the aging Dr. Hogue (Barnard Hughes). Many of the locals go out of their way to make Ben feel welcome, since they need a new full-time doctor and hope he'd be interested in staying on a permanent basis. Ben isn't especially interested until he meets Lou (Julie Warner), a beautiful, intelligent, and feisty local woman he first meets as she's enjoying a morning skinny-dip. Ben now finds himself wondering what the odds are of winning her away from her less-than-brilliant boyfriend Hank (Woody Harrelson). Bridget Fonda has a memorable supporting role as Nancy Lee, who doesn't make much of a secret of her attraction to Ben. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Meredith Baxter-Birney plays Winnie Sprockett, who at age 6 is adjudged moderately retarded and confined to an Iowa mental institution. After being locked away for 30 years, Winnie campaigns for her release, attempting to write a book of her experiences. At one point she escapes with a fellow patient (David Morse).
