Designed by Dmitri Tcherniakov, it stars Paata Burchuladze as Prince Ivan Khovansky, Klaus Florian Vogt as Prince Andrei Khovansky, John Daszak as Prince Vasily Golitsyn and Boyar Shaklovity as Valery Alexejev. The work concerns an expert jeweler who murders his clients to retrieve the gems he created for them. Alan Held essays the title role; the supporting cast includes Angela Denoke, Charles Workman and Roland Bracht.
