Peggy Lipton Movies
Despite over four decades in the industry, actress Peggy Lipton is best known for a role she played in 1968, that of undercover cop Julie Barnes in The Mod Squad (1968-1973). However, prior to life as Julie Barnes, Lipton had participated in The John Forsythe Show (1965-1966) and starred alongside Kurt Russell in Mosby's Marauders, a critically praised three-part tale from The Wonderful World of Disney series. After the finale of The Mod Squad (and the reunion in 1979's The Return of the Mod Squad), Lipton played supporting roles in Purple People Eater and Keenen Ivory Wayans' I'm Gonna Git You Sucka! (both 1988). Before long, another television role launched Lipton's name back into the mainstream -- David Lynch's surreal drama series Twin Peaks (1990-1991), which featured Lipton in the role of Norma Jennings.Lipton reprised her Twin Peaks role in 1992, though, unlike The Return of the Mod Squad, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was a feature-film prequel to the television series. Lipton continued to make sporadic appearances in film and television throughout the '90s -- she had decided to focus most of her attention on raising a family rather than pursuing acting full-time -- and played a small, supporting role in Kevin Costner's ill-conceived film The Postman in 1997. In 2000, Lipton worked with Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Jason Leigh in director Tamra Davis' coming-of-age drama Skipped Parts, and went on to perform in Michael and Mark Polish's Jackpot in 2001. She also turned up on the popular spy series Alias in 2004 as the duplicitous mother of the similarly deceptive government agent Lauren Reed (Melissa George). When this seriocomic TV film first aired March 28, 1988, it was titled Addicted to His Love. Evidently to pacify certain feminist factions, the film was rechristened Sisterhood for syndication. Either way, this is the story of a smooth lothario, played by Barry Bostwick. In the course of 97 minutes, Bostwick finds time to romance and betray four women, played by Linda Purl, Coleen Camp, Erin Grey and Dee Wallace-Stone. An international collection of second-string actors grace the cast of this bargain-basement Sergio Leone knock off. Terence Stamp stars as Azul, the son of evil Mexican bandit Ortega (Ricardo Montalban). Although Azul is a mean, low-down, varmint like Ortega's three other sons, there is a slight glimmer of goodness in his soul since he is adopted. He proves it when he kills one of his brothers who was attempting to rape beautiful Texan maid Joanne (Joanna Pettet). Renouncing his adopted family and claiming a new moniker by the name of Blue, he helps Joanne and her father on their farm, and soon Blue and Joanne are in love. Remorseful at the loss of Blue, Ortega tracks him down to regain his love. Instead, Blue rejects him, and Ortega, humiliated and disgraced by his son's rejection, gathers together an army in order to return to wreak revenge upon the Texans. Meet Pete, Linc and Julie: The Mod Squad. This trio consisted of rich, long-haired Pete Cochran, Lincoln "Linc" Hayes from the tough streets of inner city Los Angeles, and beautiful flower child Julie Barnes, a runaway from San Francisco. They're recruited by police captain Adam Greer (Tiger Andrews) for a covert unit that will help bridge the generation gap. Each week these three cops with love beads wrestled with criminals - and their own consciences. They may have been the "fuzz," but they were determined to never compromise their values. They were The Mod Squad!

While pulling off an art heist, Robert Dewey (J.D. Cannon) is forced to knock out a museum executive. Convinced he has killed the man, Dewey may have no qualms about killing again. The FBI must stop Dewey before he manages to murder Helen Meade (Antoinette Bower), the woman who unwittingly messed up his meticulous escape plan. The highlight of this episode is a high-speed chase on a motorcycle (which, of course, was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company, the longtime sponsor of The F.B.I.). Mosby's Marauders, a Disney production released theatrically in Europe, began life as a three-part offering on the TV series Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. Jack Ging plays Lieutenant (later Major) Mosby, a Confederate spy who elusiveness earned him the nickname "The Gray Ghost." While Mosby's activities carry the intrigue portion of the program, the film concentrates on the adventures of young rebel soldier Willie Prentiss (Kurt Russell), who forms a shaky but basically solid friendship with Yankee corporal Henry Jenkins (James MacArthur). Rushed to the hospital, Jerry strikes up a friendship with night nurse Ellen Hatch (Colleen Dewhurst). Eventually, she agrees to help him escape the law...but Ellen is not quite the paragon of kindness and charity that she seems to be.
