A gay man takes an experimental medication designed to make him heterosexual in this provocative independent drama. Plain-looking, unlucky in love, and approaching middle age, Tim (Jonathan Slavin) isn't very happy with the shallow hedonism of the gay world. He pines for his straight best friend Don (Mike Begovich), whose occasional willingness to accept drunken oral sex marks the closest thing to a date Tim's enjoyed in years. When news breaks of a drug trial for a miracle pill that will turn homosexual men straight, Tim jumps at the chance to enroll. His decision alienates him from Joey (Scotch Ellis Loring), his good-time-guy pal, and from Don, whose company he must shun in order to bolster the drug's effectiveness. As the treatment progresses, Tim tries out hetero sex with Sally (Susan Slome), a co-worker who's been in love with him for years. But when he spurns Sally for a better-looking new girlfriend who knows nothing of his gay past, Tim's final link to his previous life is severed. Ultimately, though, a crisis among his old friends drags Tim back into their orbit, putting his entire course of treatment in jeopardy. In Friends' extra-length 200th episode (40 minutes rather than the usual 30), Hank Azaria returns as science wonk David, freshly arrived from Minsk and armed with the hope that he can renew his romance with Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) -- who, of course, is currently involved with Mike (Paul Rudd). No one is quite sure how it happens, but Phoebe begins by giving Mike the key to her apartment, and ends up in a passionate kiss with David. Also making a guest appearance is Freddie Prinze Jr. as Sandy, the new male nanny for baby Emma, whose working methods enchant Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) while enraging Ross (David Schwimmer). Even so, guess who bursts into tears when Sandy is given his walking papers? ~ All Movie Guide

In this spoof of a popular mid-1990s TV advertising campaign, erstwhile talent agent Bud (David Faustino) arranges for Kelly (Christina Applegate) and Jefferson (Ted McGinley) to costar in a coffee commercial. The ad proves to be a huge hit with the public--so much so that the agency demands that Kelly and Jefferson exchange a kiss in their next appearance. Naturally, Kelly's dad Al (Ed O'Neill) and Jefferson's wife Marcy (Amanda Bearse) are dead set against this display of public affection, so Bud tries to mollify them by inviting them to the filming...where, unbeknownst to him, a conjugal bed is a prominent fixture of the set! Shot almost entirely on a two-and-a-half-story recreation of a full-size operating airport terminal, this romantic comedy from director Steven Spielberg revolves around an Eastern European man by the name of Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks), whose plans of immigrating to New York were hastened by a violent coup in his home country. Unfortunately, Viktor finds himself on the wrong end of a nasty technicality while en route to America: His passport was issued from a country, which, during its upheaval, ceased to exist in an official capacity. Unauthorized to leave Kennedy Airport upon his arrival and unable to return home, Viktor finds himself exiled inside the terminal's international transit lounge. Though airport official Frank Dixon (Stanley Tucci) views Viktor as an annoying bureaucratic glitch, other airport employees -- including a beautiful flight attendant by the name of Amelia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) -- come to see him as a welcome, if unofficial, addition to their numbers. As the days stretch on into months, the terminal transforms from an intimidating atmosphere of forced assimilation into a country within itself, complete with culture, ambition, status, complex diversity, and the need for love.
