Blue Man Group Movies

Jeff Daniels, Stanley Tucci, Cheryl Hines, and Andy Samberg lend their voices to this computer-animated comedy following the descendants of the first chimps in space as they blast off for fun and adventure on a far-away planet. Ham III (Samberg) is the grandson of Ham, the first-ever chimp astronaut. This ne'er-do-well chimp may not be the most qualified ape for the job, but a scheming senator (Tucci) has recruited him for a most dangerous mission. It seems that a powerful tyrant (Daniels) has overtaken an alien world, and now it's up to Ham III and his trusty simian crew (Hines and Patrick Warburton) to help overthrow the deep-space despot. Perhaps with some training from Ham III's mentor (Kenan Thompson) and the help of a friendly alien (Kristin Chenoweth) this fearless group of anthropoids can make the universe a safer place for aliens and humans alike. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

There has to be some explanation as to why a hung-over Drew (Drew Carey) has awakened in a Tennessee dog pound handcuffed to guest star John Ratzenberger). Laboriously putting the pieces together, Drew learns that he'd tried to commit suicide the night before, guilt-ridden for having done a "horrible thing"--namely, sleeping with Mimi (Kathy Kinney). Without giving anything else away, it can be noted that the whole sorry affair begins when the gang heads to Nashville for business and pleasure, and ends with an unholy alliance between John Ratzenberger and Blue Man Group. This is the third of the series' episodes to be originally broadcast live on ABC, with three different versions beamed to the three main time zones, replete with improvisations courtesy of Whose Line Is it Anyway regulars Gerry Cohen, Charles Esten, Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood and Jeff Bryan Davis. Performance art trio Blue Man Group took their unusual mixture of music and theater on the road in 2003, performing selections from their album The Complex while mounting a multi-media event (designed in collaboration with staging expert Marc Brickman) to expand the boundaries of what was possible within the format of a rock concert. Blue Man Group: The Complex Tour Live is a video record of this unusual show, which includes guest appearances from Dave Matthews of The Dave Matthews Band and Gavin Rossdale of Bush.
