The Teatro Carlo Felice mounted this 2009 production of Gioachino Rossini's 1814 opera Il Turco in Italia (The Turk in Italy). The comedic work tells of the Turkish Selim and a series of romantic entanglements that befall him when he travels to Italy and grows intoxicated by Don Geronio's wife, Fiorilla - to the consternation of Selim's own fiancée, Zaida. This particular version stars Simone Alaimo as Selim, Myrtò Papatanasiu as Fiorilla, Bruno de Simone as Geronio and Antonella Nappa as Zaida.
